Let's assess Rashad Jennings

Recommended Posts

Do you guys think he could be double digits this week against SF's tough front 7? I have my doubts, but he is also good in the passing game, so this may be where he scores points.

47 yds rushing

45 yds pass catching

Total= 8 pts standard or 12 pts PPR)

Here is the rub- no tds. Williams gets the tds inside the five.

Agree or disagree?

I tend to agree except on the fact Williams will still get goal line. While he punched in 1 or 2 short one, he overall wasn't good. I like Jennings to be in an 80:20 split. Gl depends on who in on the series.

The Newark Star-Ledger believes Rashad Jennings (knee) could be in for a 60-40 split with Andre Williams against the 49ers.

Jennings was handling close to 75 percent of the Giants' running-back touches before going down, but coach Tom Coughlin has said he doesn't expect Jennings to "carry a full load" in his return. For what it's worth, ESPN's Dan Graziano isn't taking Coughlin at his word. We'd consider 60 percent the baseline for Jennings' workload. If he looks healthy and productive early, he could get closer to 75 percent. Williams largely struggled during Jennings' absence.

I get to welcome Jennings and Mathews to my options this week but I can only pick one to start. I am going with Mathews based on matchup only, but like Jennings the player better.

I have to make a call: Jennings, McKinnon, or Stewart vs. Woeful Atlanta. I'm leaning toward Stewart, but maybe you guys will talk me into Jennings on this thread.m

- taking the ol' wait and see approach this week ... can't afford any fock ups this late in the season ... benched for Jordan Matthews at flex

those of you taking the plunge, best of luck ... and no Patrick Willis for the '9ers

In one league, it's a no-brainer for me (we do play FLEX, but I have Julio, AB and Jordy @ WR) - and my RBs are Bradshaw and Forte.

In another league, it isn't so cut-and-dried. With Murray on a bye, I have Hill, Bradshaw and Gore (FLEX) in at the moment, with Brandin Cooks on the bench (mistake?). Someone talk me into playing Jennings instead of one of them - or putting in Cooks for one of them.

I'm curious to see how he looks. I suspect he won't be cutting much, but I hope he looks like his old self.

Can't say he will rush for 100 but he should be good for a steady 6-7 with a TD being a total toss up. How g he breaks a long one or randomly stays on the GL after a PI call.

would love Daily Show more this week if it weren't for that fockin' nagging knee injury (tweaked at end of Iggles game) ... DWill is of no concern

He'll be a stud this week for I am rolling with Mathews vs Oakland.

Me too filth. Went with matchup and what I think is the healthier (probable and practiced fully 2 weeks now)

Love Jennings hope he makes it thru without injury. I didn't draft Mathews got him couple weeks ago off waivers but very happy to have him too

Forgot that Mathews has been practicing more. I'm hoping they do a bunch of swing passes to him getting him out in space.

I have quite a few options in the league I own Jennings, but I've held him simply because his playoff stretch looks decent. I don't see him doing a whole lot his first week back. The Giants are missing so many starters on defense. If they get down early, you won't be seeing much of Jennings. Without much to play for, you have to wonder how much of the timeshare he's going to get. If he does well this week, I'll begin using him the following week. He's a total wait and see as we're in the stretch run and I don't want to get stuck with a 0, or even 5 points, at RB.

I either have to start Jennings, or McKinnon/Asiata or Tre Mason. Grrr...

So yeah... I'm going with Jennings.

Stewart should get 6-8 points on yards, and double if he scores a td. Honestly, I don't have confidence in Jennings coming back and playing a very good front in SF.

Dude, it's like I told you all months ago.

The Giants offense, has this cornerstone, a RB that is multi-talented. When you take that out of the mix, and you just rely on Eli .. Yo, we outta here.

Old school prediction:

Multi-talented RB makes Eli's job a lot easier. Giants beat the Niners this week. Nobody ever said there wasn't gonna be any payback for the "scorebord" game, ever. I was on the phone with my Dad, a Niners fan as this last play went down.

Saw the flag.

"That was pass interference! Well, should be an easy FG nnow ... What? That was pass intefeeearrrance!!"

My Dad turns to my step-sister, and says, "Your brother thinks that was a bad call." and I heard her say, "Screw you. Niners win." and well, you all know who was right. That stung though. "Scoreboard", when Strahan pointed at the scoreboard during that game ... Really, a great game, that will go down in history. But I was right. It was pass interference.

Not only is it one of the top 10 worst calls ever, it changed the game. The refs stand at different points of the field now, on kicks, because of that play. But the refs blew the call, and later admitted they blew the call, to which cach Mariucci famously responded, "Bummer." Bad call by the refs, decided a playoff game.

But for me, on top of that, was my little sister, who doesn't reeally give a flying fock about it... Telling me to go fock myslf pretty much. I about snapped.

Yeah, uh fantasy wise, you are gonna want to start Jennings. Right away. Especially in PPR.

PPR might get him another 4 points, but if you don't think he can get 10 points in standard, you better think twice. I for one am skeptical he will score a td as well as get 100 combined yards because I've not read one thing saying he feels or the doctors feel he is 100%. In fact, I read otherwise.

That brings back some memories. I was watching that game, and it was one of the most amazing finishes I have ever witnessed. It took your breath away and reminded you why you suffer through horrid & boring games (like Bills/Dolphins on Thursday).....just to see a game like that occasionally. Shame that it had to be decided on a bad call. Matt Allen actually made a great throw for a rookie punter/holder, and Rich Seubert would have likely caught that ball and backed into the endzone if he had not been interfered with.

Yes, the play was on 3rd down with 6 seconds left, so Allen could have possibly spiked the ball where he fielded the bad snap at the 31, and might have given Matt Bryant another chance at a 48 yarder on 4th down.....but he just reacted. He said later that he did what they had practiced in that scenario all year....get up, roll out, yell "fire, fire!" (to get receivers downfield), and hope to complete a pass. It almost worked.

There should have been offsetting penalties, with another crack at the 40 yard FG.....but it was not to be. I heard Junink say in an interview a few years ago that he is still haunted by that bad snap he made. It almost seems that the NYG's got paid back from destiny with their two incredible and unlikely SB wins...particularly the David Tyree helmet catch against the "unbeatable" Pats.

Any upgrade now that Hillis is on IR? Would he have been involved in any potential committee?

Don't think so. Hillis has been on IR since he left the Browns.

I got Jennings getting 10 points this week. 75 rushing and 25 receiving

I'd be ecstatic to plug him in my flex and get 10. I'm thinking more like 5, maybe 6 (standard).

this one below is my favorite GMen collapse ... still inexplicable how they let the Iggles back in that game, then THIS

As a giant fan, I've lives through those painful moments, yes I have.

But....

How many guys can say they have watched their team win 4 Superbowls? Not many....yeah, I know steeler and cowboy fans are raising their hands, but there re 32 teams in the league. We are in a rare group.

How bout that. I have B.Cooks in at flex and need to decide between J.Hill, F.Gore and R.Jennings at RB.

1.0 PPR for RB

1.25 PPR for WR

I'm tempted to go J.Hill and R.Jennings but I can't bench Cooks at home.

Giants D giving up the most to RBs in my league's scoring (Gore argument)

J.Hill and R.Jennings higher ceilings and lower floors (Bengals abandon run, Jennings who knows)

This is painful... and a must win week of course.

My gut says Gore could put up 5 pts, Bengals abandon run and R.Jennings could be great in PPR.

For those above mulling J.Stew vs R.Jennings... I would def go with R.Jennings. Never rely on a Panther RB.
