I think he was certainly better than average but mostly came around at the right time. I'm still astounded that any lover of GWB can complain about NAFTA with a straight face. HenryHill9323 65 Posted February 24, 2015 I'm still astounded that Clinton signed The Welfare Reform Act to get elected to his second term and called himself "The first black President" while negotiating NAFTA with a republican congress. He only signed the welfare reform act after he vetoed it twice. He was faced with a veto override, so he finally signed it and then took credit for welfare reform. Dumbasses like Ducky think it was his idea.

He could have vetoed it for the third time but D!ck Morris advised him that doing so would cost him the second election if he did. Clinton being the poll driven President he was, agreed and signed it.

Clinton being the poll driven President he was, agreed and signed it. I will go with your memory. I just remember it was nothing more than political expediency, not some deeply held belief........which is what he tried to pass it off as. He fooled many idiots with it. Some still think it made him one of the best ever.

I just remember it was nothing more than political expediency, not some deeply held belief........which is what he tried to pass it off as. He fooled many idiots with it. Some still think it made him one of the best ever. I despised the Clinton's from day one of his becoming a candidate to the day he left office. He rubbed me the wrong way. Had I been a soccer mom, it would have been a different story. His arrogance and sudden popularity wit the lies he and Hillary were masquerading under pissed me off. Brilliant man but an utter piece of sh!t morally and subjectively. Admireable but one you wouldn't ever trust for anything that truly mattered. A Rhoda's scholar but one that would stab you in the back to become one. He never got to deal with a 9/11 moment in his presidency. Or a Katrina or a major meltdown of the markets. He got to preside over an even keel time in US history. He was lucky in a strange way. Twenty years later, as time moves on, I think he would have handled all three situations I brought up, better than any. Reagan and Bush 1 would have outshines Clinton. But he, in my opinion, would have been better than the two fawktads previously.
SUXBNME 1,596 Posted February 24, 2015 I know, Gobbledog. I said as much myself earlier in the thread. O'Reilly isn't expected to tell the truth the way Williams was. And his fanboys certainly don't care. They'd be more inclined to stop listening to him if he ever told the total truth and praised someone who was a Democrat. He says exactly what he knows his listeners want him to say. But unlike Williams, the public knows that O'Reilly is just an op-ed guy. He's not supposed to be reporting facts. My god, you're annoying. At least Shonuff, Worms, Honcho, pretty much any FFT "liberal" but you bring something to the debate table. All you do is attack and annoy with weak, played out 'jokes'. Zero substance. As your doppelganger Laz D would say, Clean up the Game

Sissyboy Personal attacks from a perrenial whiner that plays both sides of the fence attempting fishing attempts under the premise of actually wanting to talk policy and history makes ignorant debate. Next time you want to talk politics and whatnot, try having a thought, a coherent one, that involves thought based on one that doesn't involve a period. Not the red kind. One that involves your attempt at a conversation involving facts and not ones preconceived notion of where they get their information from. You'd be better equipped to handle them.

Actually, Sho Nuff, I do respect politically very much. We prolly disagree on many issues, but he does bring many valid points here. rholio 340 Posted February 24, 2015 ouch, this is going to hurt. Apparently bill challenged CBS 2 release footage of the protest in Argentina. They did, and nothing in it supports his claim. Mike Honcho 5,439 Posted February 24, 2015 So, is the footage going to be 'doctored', or 'taken out of context'? Just guessing but, Bill may assume that CBS would only have the completed master and not the source footage. His next move might be to say that they don't have the real hard core stuff he saw. That would be a bold tactic since every single reporter and operator down there has commented on it and said it really wasn't even a riot, but a protest with some scuffles. Sound operator who was with O'Reiley has said he doesn't remember anything like BOR has described.
Baker Boy 1,710 Posted February 24, 2015 These right wing loons actually think NBC is some left wing outfit. Yeah, GE is known for being damn near communist. GE is in Obama's pocket. The angry Left has been calling for President Obama to fire Jeffrey Immelt from his position as head of the Presidents Council on Jobs and Competitiveness. I think that would be a good idea, but for different reasons. Sen. Russ Feingold, Moveon.Org, and the regular scribes at the Huffington Post see the GE Chairman and CEO as unfit to advise the president because his company invests some of its resources abroad and, despite worldwide profits of $14.2 billion, paid no taxes in 2010. No illegalities are alleged, mind you; GElike every other U.S. multinationalresponds to incentives, including those resulting from tax policy and regulations concocted in Washington. But there are more substantive reasons Mr. Immelt is unfit to advise the president. In particular, GE is a major player in several industries that President Obama has been promoting as part of his administrations cocksure embrace of industrial policy. With over $100 billion in direct subsidies and tax credits already devoted to green technology, President Obama is convinced that Americas economic future depends on the ability of U.S. firms to compete and succeed in the solar panel, wind harnessing, and battery and other energy storage technologies.
