Cruzer 1,996 Posted July 23, 2015 Remember it well. Crayton should have tried catching it with his big mouth. So that's Romo's big moment, a dropped pass and a missed assignment? Gotta do better than that . Romo put it there - he can't throw and catch it... Make sure Eli Dilfer remembers to get that check in the mail.

Made Parcells quit. These are kind of moronic comments that make me giggle Basing a Qb's legacy on a fg hold - classic. But I will educate you all the same..... If you remember, Romo had Dallas up 20-13 in the 4th. He then hits Terry Glenn on quick pass, that Glenn promptly fumbles - turns into a Seattle safety. The Hawks then, promptly again, turn the kickoff into a td. So within 2 minutes Dallas gives up 9 points - none of which had anything to do with Romo... That being said, Romo once again did his job - he drove Dallas down to Seattle's 2 yard line for a game winning fg... He botched the snap - period. Prolly why he plays qb and not professional fg holder...... Talk to Eli Dilfer - check in the mail?

tubby_mcgee 701 Posted July 23, 2015 Romo has had plenty of time and plenty of opportunities at this point to prove he's better that Eli. He hasn't done it yet. Let me ask you, what is Tony Romo's defining moment In his career? His QB rating? Give me his big game he won. It's ridiculous that you think Dilfer was a better NFL QB than Marino, and that Bradshaw was a better QB than Peyton Manning, Troy Aikman or Steve Young. I don't think you'd find many to agree with you, but hey...you are entitled to your opinion.
NewbieJr 541 Posted July 23, 2015 All time highest 4th quarter QB rating. Eye test. I've seen him piss away so many playoff and play-in games that it's laughable. If not for the picked up flag on the obvious PI play against Detroit last year, he still only has one playoff win. He's an incredible QB when the games mean nothing. Probably the biggest choker I remember seeing since I've been watching football.

Uhh...you cite SB wins a a measure of greatness. So...uhhh....yeah... And I don't hate Eli. I don't hate any NFL player or team. That's what either 12 year olds do, or washed up dooshbag adults do. Why would an adult spend the time or energy hating and NFL player?

Probably the biggest choker I remember seeing since I've been watching football. As they say, you see what you want to see. As you can clearly see, when the Dallas Cowboys are playing games to clinch a playoff spot, win a division title, or progress into the playoffs, Tony Romo is phenomenal with a 63.3 completion % throwing 18 TD vs. 11 INT. See how fun it is to play with numbers and small sample sizes for statistical proof? Can you imagine what would happen if we started including all the must-win games where Romo led the Cowboys to victory so that those Week 17 elimination games even mattered? tanatastic 2,062 Posted July 23, 2015 Romo is a joke among nfl qbs when it comes to the trancendent area of playoff accomplishment. Hes a great regular season qb, sort of...he only wins 8 games a year most of the time. But he just lacks that intangible magical "stuff" that turns good qbs into great ones. You either have it or you dont. That will to win, that fire that you muster to make it happen. Is he a victim of bad luck? sure, but thats what he should be overcoming with the talent he has and the teams he has had. Eli has that stuff, but lacks the talent of Romo. That means if the giants can make the playoffs, they have a shot. Peyton doesnt have that stuff, but hes the most talented qb to ever play, by leaps and bounds, so he squeaked one in there. Marino didnt have it either, he padded his stats through 20 mediocre seasons and had like 3 great ones.
Magnificent Bastard 192 Posted July 23, 2015 Romo had T.O. In his prime, a HOF tight end his whole career, Dez and last year he had the best RB and O line. Bupkis
Cruzer 1,996 Posted July 23, 2015 Romo had T.O. In his prime, a HOF tight end his whole career, Dez and last year he had the best RB and O line. Bupkis And it all led to a the highest qb rating in the league, a 70% completion percentage and 34 tds to 9 picks.. All he lacked was a defense half as good as Eli Dilfer's in 2007 and he might be holding a SB trophy.

Also thats just total defense, the Cowboys allowed a full point less than the Gmen that year. Yea he had some great teams and some great years stat wise. That got him 8 wins a season. Your acting like the Giants had the ravens or 85 bears defense. They just had decent defenses that played best at crunch time. Thats what champions do, they dont make excuses. NewbieJr 541 Posted July 23, 2015 Romo has done less with more weapons than any QB in the league. And his interceptions during clutch time are what defines him. Always followed by looking up at the scoreboard, grimacing, then faking a limp to the sideline. lol I love watching him in the playoffs.
tubby_mcgee 701 Posted July 23, 2015 I'm actually glad that the the public, the media, and even those on this glorious message board can't help but get heatedly involved in anything Dallas Cowboys related. It's been that way always, and it will continue to be that way. The only team in the NFL that can do that...from all sides....haters, fans and media.
