Frozenbeernuts 2,264 Posted August 30, 2015 It's amazing how fast opinions ebb and flow with each preseason game or snippet from Rotoworld. If i am an Anderson owner i would be seriously worried that he isnt the main guy every game. He will have some awesome games, but he will also have some mediocre games as Hillman steals the show. I dont get how after 1 preseason game people are all back on his nuts, besides a few that stuck with their guns like skinnybastard.
Mike Nice 40 Posted August 30, 2015 Hillman missed a blitz pickup and got Manning laid out. CJA is the guy in denver unless he gets injured. He proved to be a great 3 down back and great in pass pro. Hillman is a backup that is all.

Hillman is a backup that is all. Agree. CJA was amazingly effective last season and has Manning's trust/support. He's going to be the bellcow barring injury or significant struggles. The preseason has shown Hillman to be a must own FFL backup. Knile Davis, Ronnie Hillman, Gio Bernard are the top three handcuffs.
Kent 228 Posted August 30, 2015 You and I are on the same page. Those who passed on CJ in the end of the first will be kicking themselvs all year I got CJ early second. I think it's a steal. I also got Hillman late. Painless handcuff. My starting RBs in my main money 12 man league are Jamaal and CJ. Flex is Gore. Let's go! I noticed a trend this year that people are afraid of RB injury. RBs were falling so late.
JOHN 316 7 Posted August 30, 2015 ok.....another angle.....HILLMAN or MACINNON.....I do not own CJA or AP....
Squintz82 45 Posted August 30, 2015 The difference is that CJA owners drafted him as their RB1, while Hillman owners got a very high upside back that cost them nothing. You will continue to hear CJA owners tout about him since they have WAY more to lose.

DaBeerz 88 Posted September 15, 2015 Hillman came in and posted four 20+ point games last year, then went down to injury. I would wait a week or so, but I'm seriously considering picking him up. If Anderson goes down you have a starting back, which has value on any 10 or 12 team league.
SaintsInDome2006 441 Posted September 15, 2015 What can I say, I looked up Hillman. Didn't see the others.

DaBeerz 88 Posted September 15, 2015 Except he cant pass block, and there is a better back in front of him This is what's making me hesitate in picking him up. Right now I have Bernard, who I know is going to get some time no matter what. Hillman is a wild card. If CJ goes down, he could put up some good points, but it's a risk. weepaws 3,191 Posted September 15, 2015 Hard to believe that Hillman is still available , he was drafted in every league I am in . There is no question that you need to pick Hillman up .

The CJ owner autodrafted, so there was no handcuff for him. He's highly likely to target him on WW this week, and he has priority on getting him anyway. I'm last in the WW rotation. Hillman > Bernard right now?
tanatastic 2,062 Posted September 15, 2015 He wont steal the job but he will be the lead carrier by midseason, one way or the other. Its just how the tea leaves fall in denver.
Skinny_Bastard 157 Posted September 15, 2015 Seems like an eternity with this Hillman fellow. Every year he's "destined" to be "the man", but every year he "fumbles" it away….

BobSanders_33 127 Posted September 16, 2015 Seems like an eternity with this Hillman fellow. Every year he's "destined" to be "the man", but every year he "fumbles" it away…. Has he? I don't remember a year where he was supposed to be the man. Last year Ball was supposed to be "the man". Then when Ball went down Hilman was a RB1 until he was injured. So again not sure when it was supposed to happen. The truth is that everyone other than Moreno has put up RB1 points with Manning other than Ball. There is a chance that CJ can't handle the load. There is a chance that CJ was a case of fresh legs at the end of last season. People like to site that Manning has talked up CJ. Manning talked up Moreno a few years ago when he basically came from being inactive each game. Manning talked up Ball and his trust for him at the start of last season. Then he trusted Hillman who was given the call before CJ. Now CJ is all world and has his trust. We shall see. We know what Hillman can do if given the role. I doubt he takes the job from CJ but if/when CJ gets nicked I'll be happy to flex Ronnie.

megatron's mom 6 Posted September 16, 2015 Why wouldnt we trust a 3rd stringer who only got a chance after both guys ahead of him got injured? Seems a no brainer to me! Oh he looked great out there? So would your aunt Gertrude playing with Peyton. CJ also beat them both out in camp this off season so this logic is flawed.
AintNoStoppinMeNow 68 Posted September 16, 2015 Is anyone considering starting Hillman this week? Short week with CJA a little dinged up so I could see Hillman getting a little more work. Could be a nice FLEX play but very risky.

Kent 228 Posted September 16, 2015 I will start Hillman if CJ is out but that is because I have both. The harder question is am I going to start CJ if he is playing. I have both too. If CJ practices today in full I'm starting with confidence. If not then who knows what his real injury is and all the coach speak has been lies Per usual. Hillman trying to pass protect against KC is dicey and the coaching staff know it.
DaBeerz 88 Posted September 16, 2015 People are riding very high on Hillman given he had 3-4 good games in a period where Manning was Blazing lights out last year. CJ is the more complete back, that's without a doubt. The only way Hillman has value if CJ goes down with a long term injury. I think in any league where the CJ owner knows what he was doing he would have handcuffed Hillman to CJ during the draft. Surprisingly he's available in my league, the CJ owner auto-drafted. Not as surprising is nobody has picked him up yet. The CJ owner must think his RB3 and RB4 in timeshares have more value than Hillman potentially getting the rock full time. He had a chance to BEAT OUT.. An old Willis McGahee in 2012 but didn't. A criple K. Moreno in 2013 but didn't. A plodder in M. Ball in 2014 but didn't. And now CJ Anderson in 2015 in preseason... Really..something is going to click here? He still can't PASS BLOCK (Key in Denver?) very well. Has never averaged MORE THAN 4.1 yards per carry in ANY SEASON. Ray_T 753 Posted September 16, 2015 Good summary. I really think right now the only person who should have Hillman on their roster is the CJ owner. I have always wondered why you wouldnt own this guy if you were the CJ owner. Hillman is not only a good handcuff, but given the info that came out in the final week or two of preseason, I was under the impression he was a risk to CJ's job. Not a huge risk, but a risk nonetheless. If you own CJA, how much can it hurt to have a this guy on your team for the first couple of weeks of the season until you see how this mess turns out? it's all about managing your risks.
