weepaws 3,191 Posted September 16, 2015 I have both on one of my teams , but I also own Hillman on a few other teams , he is worth a bench spot just in case Anderson get banged up and can't go , but if Manning and the Broncos offense can't move the ball any better it won't matter . Skinny_Bastard 157 Posted September 16, 2015 Yes, I think the handcuff to CJA is Juwan Thompson.

DaBeerz 88 Posted September 16, 2015 I have always wondered why you wouldnt own this guy if you were the CJ owner. Hillman is not only a good handcuff, but given the info that came out in the final week or two of preseason, I was under the impression he was a risk to CJ's job. Not a huge risk, but a risk nonetheless. If you own CJA, how much can it hurt to have a this guy on your team for the first couple of weeks of the season until you see how this mess turns out? it's all about managing your risks. People aren't sacrificing a roster spot for a handcuff who will sit on your bench all season (if everything goes well) and put you in a bye week bind when you need a starter. That said, most smart drafters picked up K. Davis, and Hillman for the obvious handcuff. Some risk reward there, reward is obviously if you handcuff and starter goes down you have a plug in starting RB ready to go. Risk is you miss out on potential sleepers/trade value or get a guy who just sits on your bench all year. One of my leagues only allows for 4 RB slots, and we start 2 + 2 Flex. Makes it tough to sacrifice a spot for handcuff. Other leagues play in give more flexibility on the bench, I see a lot more handcuffs in that league.
Captain Goomy Noomy Roo 50 Posted September 16, 2015 Could be more to see here than people think. CJ is already looking wobbly... I grabbed Hillman... will keep him a couple weeks and keep an eye on CJ progress. Hillman will get some good opportunities if CJ continues with aches and pains or if CJ decides to go back in there banged up and brakes something for the season. I will give it a couple of weeks then let Hillman go or package him in a trade to the CJ owner as a handcuff.

CJA will be playing tomorrow, the fact he got in 2 limited practices with a "ankle/Toe" issue ensures this
American Chewy 98 Posted September 16, 2015 I think cj plays despite the questionable tag but Hillman possibly gets 15+ touches. thinking of rolling him out there over Maclin at flex.
Socnorb11 7 Posted September 16, 2015 I think cj plays despite the questionable tag but Hillman possibly gets 15+ touches. thinking of rolling him out there over Maclin at flex. Yeah, Maclin against the Broncos defense probably isn't ideal. You could do worse than Hillman as a flex.

Mike Nice 40 Posted September 17, 2015 Why? Captain Checkdown still hasn't throw a TD to a wr since 2004. Because manning is dropping 5 tds, KC will have to throw

lesjroza 70 Posted September 17, 2015 Folks do realize that CJA played 75% of the snaps this past weekend. Right? I think that's kind of the scary part...........Hillman still actually out rushed CJ.......and it wasn't like it was garbage time carries
Skinny_Bastard 157 Posted September 17, 2015 I think that's kind of the scary part...........Hillman still actually out rushed CJ.......and it wasn't like it was garbage time carries Hillman got 7 carries in their final drive of the game. 7 of the 12...if I didn't watch the game, the way folks talk up Hillman, it sounded like it was Hillman's show. It wasn't.
American Chewy 98 Posted September 17, 2015 Maclin is the start over hillman here. i wouldn't argue with either. the broncos secondary looks really tough for anyone to score on. maclin would have to do with with volume as i won't count on a td. i'm going to keep an eye on what they are saying about anderson tomorrow before i decide for sure. i really want to roll the dice on hillman though as KC's run defense isn't anything special. IMMensaMind 462 Posted September 17, 2015 Maclin is the start over hillman here. I could not. disagree. more. Maclin barely showed up against Houston. WTH you think he's doing against DEN? I'll put it on record here right now: Hillman will double Maclin's production, and may triple it.

GobbleDog 996 Posted September 17, 2015 Yes. He was drafted in 2012. I know. Sounds crazy. He is entering HIS 4TH SEASON. He had a chance to BEAT OUT.. An old Willis McGahee in 2012 but didn't. A criple K. Moreno in 2013 but didn't. A plodder in M. Ball in 2014 but didn't. And now CJ Anderson in 2015 in preseason... Really..something is going to click here? He still can't PASS BLOCK (Key in Denver?) very well. Has never averaged MORE THAN 4.1 yards per carry in ANY SEASON. Good points. At worst Hillman is a lotto ticket in case of Anderson injury. Til then, he's low-end flex if he can average 15 touches a game. He had 12 last week.
Kent 228 Posted September 17, 2015 Dude, you are soooo scared right now aren't you? It will be OK - CJ will have some good games, but he's in a time-share - the sooner you realize that the better. I watched every snap. CJ took himself out with a ding and then Hillman came in for a bunch of carries. But most of the game it was all CJ on the field. It's not remotely a time share. Byrdman5 112 Posted September 17, 2015 If anyone knows Kubiak, he's not a timeshare type of coach he likes a lead back. He did it last year with Forsett. He would start him then the next week he didn't. Then you know what he started every game after that.
tanatastic 2,062 Posted September 17, 2015 Hillman is still a wait and see lottery ticket. He's not a flex yet. The CJ situation is teetering, just needs a push to send it over.

Before CJA got dinged up, it was 19 touches to Hillman's 5.... What's more compelling is that in the few plays Hillman was on the field and had to pass block....he got run over. It's bad. He can't take on LBs at all. A stunting Lineman? Peyton is a dead man with Ronnie. He may be the most gifted back, but he can't keep Manning from getting killed so it doesn't matter. AintNoStoppinMeNow 68 Posted September 17, 2015 Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 4m 4 minutes ago Not much of a surprise, but despite being listed as questionable with a toe injury, Broncos RB C.J. Anderson will play tonight, per source.
PATSSOX 22 Posted September 17, 2015 So who's rolling Hillman out there tonight? Only if Anderson is out which is unlikely. But if he is out Hillman is a must start I can play him over Doug Martin and Andre Johnson in one league. Not gonna do Another league have to play Spiller and Watkins. Tempting to play him over Watkins now but doubt will Who are you going to bench to play him even if Anderson plays?
Kent 228 Posted September 17, 2015 Weather update. High winds all game. Expect lots of running for both teams. Steady high winds with gusts at 35 mph. Rag arm Manning is going to hand off all night. And dump off to CJ.
