A poster on Rotoworld brought up a good point. With Peyton's arm strength being severely diminished and no Julius Thomas to worry about, defenses are not afraid to crowd the line of scrimmage against them. Last year, CJA had much more running room to work with as the defense was backed off.

 

I don't think Peyton's throwing was making people back off at the end of last year. And that's when CJ was blowing up.

 

I'm not saying he'll blow up now, there's clearly something different about him between this year and last. Sometimes guys just blow up and then are gone (Anthony Thomas). But Peyton lame-ducked his way out of the season last year, right? And CJ came on strong at the same time.
