And their backup quarterbacks would have had more success if they had a running game. Romo's best year was last year. Largely because of Murray.

It's called balance.

Murray still isn't all that, but I'd still love to have him back.

Unless your AP - you're not running against 8 and 9 man fronts... Murray would have seen those with Cassel or Weeden under center - he would have mattered very little.

And fock any crazy idea of Murray coming back... Nothing personal - he's a good back. But I'm not paying him more than $4m a year for it.

Some shitty football for sure but pretty cool for fans of all four teams thinking they gots a shot on December 11th. Ya never know what can happen once the playoffs start.

Agreed.. Especially this year, bcoz no team outside of Carolina really scares you.. And to some - even that undefeated team doesn't.... I for one believe Cam and the Panthers are for real - but for some reason the thought of going into Bank of America stadium to face them in January isn't as intimidating as it would normally be heading into Lambeau or Seattle come January.

Giants won't make it. They suck too much and Eli is just horrendous. ODB would be better off leaving

Giants at least probably have the best passing game in the division.

I don't have a link but I heard today that the Cowboys are the 5th best Defense in the League right now. :shocking: If so that is quite surprising to me.

He led the league in TD catches last year - and in fact, has the most TD receptions of anyone since 2010... I'm not sure what checks he's not cashing - but he's pretty damn good when healthy... My only complaint is that he doesn't exactly have separation speed. But when you are as big and muscular as he is - that's part of it.

Today's "performance" is a great example of why I can't stand Dez, he often does NOT show up when you need him the most.

Check Please!.........the Cowboys are done. :bench:

The most they can do now is screw up somebody else's chances.

Local sports radio in Cowboy land is headed for the usual "We don't even have a team" mode. God I love it. Every third call is looking for Garrett's head. You would think that Brandon Weeden would be forgotten by now, but no; him and the front office who thought he could win a game in reserve are getting re-crucified. If it gets really rolling, a few people who put a curse on the Cowboys when Jerry Jones fired Tom Landry will call in. You think I am kidding, but I am not. I have actually heard this already. Baptist hate forever and forget nothing.

There is also talk of getting the 4th or 5th pick in the 2016 draft. Plenty of people will be totally pissed if Dez starts holding on to a few more passes and louses things up.

And yes, there is still a small group of locals watching the game tonight, thinking that the 'Boys have a chance in the play-offs if the Giants lose.

Naturally, I would love to have a great team, but there is fun to be had watching the local meltdown close up.

I think Garrett should be fired. He's been absolutely horrible. I know Jerry loves him because he's quiet as a field mouse and would never stand up to him, but for that amount of talent that teams has, this might be the worst coaching job I've ever seen. When you see all the injuries around the league and how teams like Pittsburgh and Kansas City have all managed to stay afloat with their superstars going down, it just amazes me how the Cowboys have just imploded. That's coaching.

I'll go more with GM'ing. Any contender with a papier mache QB and no real backup is asking for failure. Denver might be better since Manning went down. Hasselback has kept the Colts alive.

Michael Vick and Landry Jones have played well enough to win for Pittsburgh when both Leveon Bell and Big Ben have been out. I agree, the roster construction is horrible. But why has Tomlin and the other coaches been able to coach up his players and win a few games? Hell, even when Romo was back and playing his seco0nd game against Carolina, the team was horrible. The same team that won a playoff game last year. They have way too many low character guys. Those kind of guys do well when everything is perfect. Guys like Dez and Hardy get frustrated and attack when they don't get their way. Instead of rising to the occasion and bringing their teammates up.

They need a hard-ass coach who will get rid of the ass holes on the team and put some fire into the rest. A guy with passion. But therein lies the problem. Jerry Jones would never hire a guy with opinions and testosterone. He just wants a yes man.

You pretty much just summed up why the GM is the issue with the girls. We disagree on Garrett, who I think is above average as a head coach. Doesn't matter, the combo of the 2 is fraught with failure.

All this is accurate. Garrett finds lots of positives after a game where his offense couldn't score a single TD. Imagine Belichick in a similar situation.

Jerry does love his fluff-muffin coaches.

I agree with you to a point... He just got paid out the ass and he's a professional - he should be bringing it 24/7... But I'm also a realist. And the fact of the matter is this season has been, and is, a complete focking waste. It's clear as day to anyone with a brain that Romo, not Murray, was the true MVP of this team. Losing him changed everything. So to go into Lambeau, already 4-8, in the pouring rain, with the sorriest qb in the league under center - I can see how he checked out.... This was meaningless game in a lost season - so to say this was a 'time when we needed him most' is a bit of a stretch.

He's an athlete. If he's anything like I was when I played then I HATE losing. Even in a meaningless game. He's getting paid big dollars so he should want to try his hardest to win.

yeah, not wise

Even I thought he would be better than he's been. In his defense though, he's still new in Dallas and his WR's have absolutely sucked.

I agree with all you said here except I think you missed my point about Dez....I said he OFTEN doesn't show up when he's needed or expected to have a big game. If he wouldn't about everybody else's mistakes I could look past his.

Meh - it's the way of the professional athlete in today's game. Most are nothing but a bunch of spoiled, entitled divas... He came out healthy - I can live with the rest.

I would not have guessed 3 months ago that the Skins-Eagles prime time game on the 26th would be for the division. Of course, no one else would have either. Which Eagles team will show up?
