Big Guy 1,421 Posted December 28, 2015 This thread was aptly named, but in a twist, I think it sets up as a very high quality division next season. With Cousins having another year's experience under his belt in Washington, if Romo can stay healthy, and if the Giants make the right coaching change, I believe all 3 of those teams are in the 8-11 win category next season.......And the Eagles are a wild card. They could suck, or they could make the right moves and be decent as well. Next Year's thread name........ NFC BEAST

jerryskids 7,088 Posted December 28, 2015 My only beef with the Cardinals is their name, logo, persona. It's not like they have a winning tradition or something, and Cardinals aren't really a native bird, it's just dumb. There are Cardinals in AZ, I even occasionally see them in Phoenix. But yeah, old man Bidwill would never change the name.
Mungwater 601 Posted December 28, 2015 There are Cardinals in AZ, I even occasionally see them in Phoenix. But yeah, old man Bidwill would never change the name. Cardinals are one of the only two charter teams in the NFL. Their name came from the faded uniforms, not the bird. Only reason I know that is I mentioned how I rarely saw a cardinal in Chicago too, and someone looked it up. iPhones ruined the good sports debate

Yeah I know that since I live in AZ as well, but it's only slightly more intimidating than a sparrow. Hell if you want to keep a lame ass bird theme, pick something good. Forget birds, something like Amigos, Bandits, Outlaws would be quite the upgrade imo. And I wasn't even aware B.B. was still alive.

Magnificent Bastard 192 Posted January 4, 2016 I'll tell you what, after the Packers get knocked out again I'd be looking to hire Coughlin. Mike Mchamburger is wasting a great QB, and Coughlin knows what to do with a good one, imagine a great one.

I think that's implied by your response talking about the Packers in a thread asking how you would handle your team's offseason. Get a life? Cruzer 1,996 Posted January 5, 2016 One of the 1st items of biz since being back - this divisional race. * Congrats to the Skins for being the last turd left in this putrid division. I never thought they could get to 9 wins, and they did. Granted the last 2 were against a Philly and Dallas teams who had quit, but they did... A interesting stat of note: the Skins did not have a single win against a winning team this year. * cbfalcon - shoot me your email brotha, have a bet to pay! TimmySmith 2,783 Posted January 5, 2016 The Skins were the beneficiary of the easiest schedule in the NFL, only facing 1 team outside the division that had a winning record in 2014 (NE). They were 0-3 against teams with winning records in 2015. 9-4 against patsies. They will play a 1st place schedule next year.

True, but the whole division has an easy schedule, because the division stinks. There is no way in hell I would predict a favorite to win this division next year. If you told me the skins got a ground game in order and reed stayed healthy, I might lean towards them, because somehow they are the most stable team right now. I would revert to Dallas as the favorite next year, if I had faith that Romo could stay upright. The Giants and Philly both lost very good coaches. I don't see how anyone could expect either to improve. The Skins are my favorite by default. That said, Scot Mcloughan gets another draft and Kirk Cousins gets a whole off-season as the incumbent.
