FishHead 3 Posted February 19, 2016 I may be considered a Silverback but I'm not a Sanctuary member. Never applied. Probably would have been rejected. Why? Because an aforementioned member used to work for me. I believe a Sancturian knew this. My secretary's name was Judy Jolly. I can't remember how or even why she spelled it so differently. Maybe Ju-Day. Not sure. One day a delivery person came into our office and was wasting time on one of our PCs. Judy was flirting with him and noticed he was posting stuff on a place called the Geek Club. After he left, she acquired a username and began screwing around with him albeit without his knowledge who she was. Maybe why the crazy name spelling. Anyway, soon several other of my employees acquired usernames and was screwing around with Judy unbenounced to her who they were. Even her sister without telling her. My partner signed up as did his wife and soon I did too. We were just jerking around with each of our workers but obviously, other Geeks were caught up in our tomfoolery. Judy was killed in a weird accident in Washington, DC where she moved after her hubby and her separated. Somebody has obviously stolen her password because I've seen her handle pop up occasionally. Sorry to bother your guys lovefest but I had to at least mention my part in the old days. Carry on.

Mephisto 15 Posted February 19, 2016 The sanctuary folks like to beat a joke deep into the ground and then beat on it some more. Then, beat it some more. Then beat it some more. Actually, it's not a joke. DUIs are a serious matter. But the issue with the DUIs on this forum is that it would have disappeared if not for the complainant offering up "I wonder how many times..." Nothing says post about it every possible chance you get more than "wondering."

SJ 0 Posted February 19, 2016 - Name and SSN SJ (Snazzy Jeff at the Sanc.) 111-11-1111 - What you are known for at the Geek Club Nothing really, spice stealer at times . Been around a long time (was member #21 after Latin Pimp). Would hope to be drafted in the nice guy category. - Favorite moment in Geek Club history 9/11 thread was pretty special. As has been mentioned, a true display of caring about people we had never met, known only on a fairly modest message board (for the most part) was pretty special to read. Guess the Geek was truly hilarious. So many times I was trying to stifle almost uncontrollable laughter in my office, tears running down my face. - Reason you left Too much crap being posted. Having to wade through completely humorless posts, over and over again became more trouble than it was worth to find the nuggets of humor or significance. - Favorite story about another Geek Club member Old Man's Nipple posting about almost chocking to death on a bite of pizza. He was home alone and detailed all of the thoughts going through his head, chief of which was "What happens when my parents find my porn collection? Mom-"The horror!", Dad-"Cool!". He ended up banging on his neighbors door and getting him to give him the Heimlich. Narrative genius. Also paulinstlouis and his anorexia story. "It's my first day." - Most important piece of wisdom to impart to the new Geek Club members Take yourself less serious. Be more self aware about how you come across to people. Don't waste time with flame wars. No one wins an on-line argument.
JScott 20 Posted February 19, 2016 - JScott - Fairly anonymous in the Geek club, joined at the tale end of the Silverback era but still participate regularly in the annual Mock drafts here over the years (Jetdoc, No Hassle) - Not a favorite moment but was here before the Latin Pimp hack / bored meltdown. Sorting through the rubble at TDZ, before Mike got things up and running again. Also, had a Geek meat in Boston with shovel, edjr and one other Geek... can't remember his bored name off hand but he fled FFT a little while later, saying he was wasting too much time on FF and needed to get out... who was that - Trolls. At that time you couldn't get 3 consecutive posts before some dipshit had to flood the thread with whatever the weekly running joke was - How Clash was such a piss poor teammate on the FFT IBL squad that we kicked him off the team, and he went and lied about it begging other boreds to take him in. Landed with FFLW, but got booted again, did the same song and dance, ending up with FBG. (To his credit it seems like he's been a good teammate for that squad.) - I hold the keys to the Sanctuary, but am not an idea guy

DuckStupid 40 Posted February 20, 2016 I think that we have a new generation of Geek Club members who have no understanding of the past history of the Board. Our Bored historian is not around (presumably in the fetal position or diabetic coma) and latinpimp took care of deleting much of the history, so much of this important information could be lost forever. To help resurrect that past, I think that it would be helpful for the returning Silverbacks to provide some insight on the past. For example, it would be great if each member could document: - Name and SSN - What you are known for at the Geek Club - Favorite moment in Geek Club history - Reason you left - Favorite story about another Geek Club member - Most important piece of wisdom to impart to the new Geek Club members Name and SS: Duck - 14 Known for: whatever Favorite moment: whatever Why I left: didn't really ever leave. Have not made an effort to post anything interesting anywhere in years. Maybe I've moved past message boards, maybe I'm boring. Whatever. Favorite story: liked the nafxaj stuff. Rusty's sharing was always fun.sweeski was so blunt it made me laugh. Ken8080 fascinated me. Gtg's were hilarious. Jihads made me laugh. Pretty much came here to laugh, maybe contribute something occasionally that others might laugh. Piece of wisdom: f' it.

Walter34 3 Posted February 20, 2016 - Name and SSN Walter34 000-00000-34 - What you are known for at the Geek Club Mostly known from the Main board with around 25,000 posts from 2001 - 2006 time frame. I can't recall when I slowed down posting. Was part of the inaugural IBL teams for FFT for the first few years. Led the mian board to an ass kicking victory over the geek club in the epic FF battle back in the day. Particpated in many flame wars with Pats, eagles, packers and lions fans back in the day. The main board was a steel cage, no DQ, last man standing match back in 2001-2002. Spent 80% there and 20% here. - Favorite moment in Geek Club history Many to speak of- Jihads - FBG had a board meltdown and screwed up all their history. many of us went over and stole all the low member numbers when the board came back up. hey were pissed. We also for some reason used the BigTrain picture as avatars - I still see that around here as well.- Afore-mentioned main vs geek wars BUCK!!@@##$$ :madami:- remember a thread about midgets in football and the strategy of a midget RB being tossed into the end zone. The defence would then send their own midget into the air as an anti aircraft assault midget. Laugh about that one to this day- Many good times with people that were here - my old friend donhaas, Nan, TDRyan, Boston, Fumble, Dan, many others- Guess the geek was fun. Rusty lead that I think and was a great poster back in the day. Life dragged him down and stole his zing over time - Reason you left 1. Ran out of things to say2. Board crashes forced people elsewhere3. Gravitated to the sanctuary guys for FF leagues and generally a more adult level of conversation. Most are middle aged professionals - here there is every walk of life and freak imaginable.4. Life happens - family and work are alot different than 15 years ago. I dont post alot over there either. - Favorite story about another Geek Club member Met JGalt (RIP) back in 2005 I think Met Gutter, OB, AutumnWind, Fricker back around that time as well I will always appreciate TDRyan - we only had a few PMs or emails at the time but we both had the unfortunate experience of our wives miscarrying a child many years ago. Though i was the butt of the joke, the Buck secret agent tactic by the geeks was first rate in the FF battle and that I think is what started the sanctuary

The defence would then send their own midget into the air as an anti aircraft assault midget. Laugh about that one to this day Haha, I remember that thread. In fact, I'm almost positive I originated the idea of strategically using midget RBs when you needed short yardage.
