I'm closing in on 20 years..

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the brotherhood Mung. I just hit 25 in March. Aiming to make 10-10-2020 my retirement. It'll give me 27+ years, most of it Guard. I'm civil service too so hopefully the fulltime work will just slide into another role as I take the uniform off.

If you enjoy it, feel free to stick with it.

I doubt another tour of duty in Sh*tholistan is in the works.

Congrats buddy.

But knowing you, every time you mention going off to 'play army,' I think of the guys from the original first blood movie who were part-time guard.

Sersly, Congrats.

On everything.

I worried this joke was going over my head but I leaped at the wall ... I believe that mungwater, among other things, is the name of the liquid version of whatever fun surprises you find in your freezer after returning home from Hurricane Katrina three weeks later.

Not exactly...

It was a reference to a pic he posted where, due to the angle, he looks over 7 ft tall and the fridge behind him looks tiny.

I remember that pic, I remember there were nutcrackers in it but I don't recall the spacial disorientation aspect.

It’s going well, border is a little hairy, but I don’t go over there very often.  Signed a lease on a house on the west side.

yeah, every year, shoot every day counts to my retirement.  As long as Uncle Sam will take me, I’ll stay in

Congrats on the move, there is more amenities over there except for Costco. How long of commute do you have living on the west side?

Did you choose to live off of North Mesa or Resler as your main street?

That is not bad at all, although you probably get there before rush hour traffic starts.
