Democratic leadership and BLM don't acknowledge it because they know what the only solution is, and that's not good for them politically. I see no end to this anytime soon.

Maybe just take guns away from black people? Technically the 2nd amendment wasn't written for blacks anyway, right, as they were still slaves.

Just thinking out loud here.

Girl, 8, shot during memorial for young shooting victim on West Side

http://wgntv.com/2016/08/21/young-girl-shot-in-the-arm-on-the-west-side/

CHICAGO, Ill. -- A 8-year-old was released from the hospital after being shot during a memorial for another young shooting victim on the city's West Side.

The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of North and Major in the Austin neighborhood.

A large group was gathered in the area to mourn the death of a 14-year-old boy who was killed in a gang-related shooting in the same neighborhood earlier in the day.

Jamia Barnes was shot in the wrist, and a 40-year-old woman was also wounded, while trying to cross the street.

Ashake Banks, a woman attending the memorial, ran up to Jamia, picked her up and drove her to West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park.

Banks' 7-year-old daughter, Heaven Sutton, was shot and killed in 2012 while selling candy in front of her home.

Investigators are searching for evidence in between cars parked on Major Ave.

Police are not yet discussing the circumstances of the shooting.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.

Barnes is the fourth child to be shot in Chicago in the last two weeks.

Thank God that black lives matter...

Because the media doesn't care. They would care if the perp was white though. Man bites dog

Donald Trump to the rescue!

Donald Trump knows someone who knows how to stop Chicago crime

Donald Trump said “tough police tactics” could solve Chicago’s troubles with crime in a matter of days.

During a discussion on crime and policing Monday night on Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor,” the Republican presidential nominee said he had met an impressive senior officer in the Chicago Police Department, who said he could end the city’s crime in “one week.” Pressed by host Bill O’Reilly on specifics of the crime-fighting strategy, Trump offered a vague reply.

“How? By being very much tougher than they are now. They’re right now not tough,” Trump said.

Trump said the officer was one of a “couple of very top police” with whom he had talked during a recent visit to the city, though that officer was not the superintendent of police. Trump was clear that CPD does not have “the right people in charge.” A CPD spokesman said Trump has never talked to a senior officer.

“All I know is this, I went to a top police officer in Chicago, who is not the police chief, I could see by the way he was dealing with his people he was a rough, tough guy, they respected him greatly,” Trump said. “I said, ‘How do you think you do it?’ He said, ‘Mr. Trump within one week we could stop much of this horror show that’s going on.’ ”

CPD spokesman Frank Giancamilli said Tuesday that no such conversation took place.

“No one in the senior command at CPD has ever met with Donald Trump or a member of his campaign,” Giancamilli said.

Yeah, he probably met with a "very top" police officer who is not part of senior command.

So you're honestly suggesting he's not implying this guy is well up the chain of command when he calls him a "very top" cop. Okay.

The funniest part about this is Trump, a candidate for President, someone ostensibly interested in public policy and problem-solving, met the guy he's confident has the magic bullet for solving inner-city strife - in a focking week no less - and never thought to ask for any particulars. Well played Don.

Hmm and wade jumps to gun violence and gun laws very democratic of him. Chicago has some of the most strict gun laws in the nation. And gang bangers don't adhere to them. Take away every registered firearm in Chicago and the number of shootings don't change

So The gun laws are stopping the legal purchase of weapons by criminals. I guess it's time to concentrate on the illegal means by which they are acquired. Any thoughts on that?

Congratulations to Chicago!!!

With 90 Homicides, August Was Chicago’s Bloodiest Month In 20 Years

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2016/09/01/with-90-homicides-august-was-chicagos-bloodiest-month-in-20-years/

CHICAGO (CBS) — A 24-year-old man was killed and a 23-year-old man was grazed by a bullet in a shooting in the West Lawn neighborhood late Wednesday night, capping off the most violent month in Chicago in 20 years.

Chicago police said there were 90 homicides in August, and a total of 472 people shot in 384 separate attacks. The city has not had that many murders in one month since August 1996.

As he has several times before, Police Supt. Eddie Johnson said a relatively small group of repeat gun criminals are responsible for the the vast majority of gun violence in Chicago. The department maintains a watchlist of sorts, called the “strategic subject list,” which relies on an algorithm to try to predict who is most likely to be involved in a shooting – either as the shooter or victim – by analyzing data such as gang affiliations, criminal records, past shootings, and previous contact with police.

“Most of our violence is driven by 1,400 individuals in this city. So until we hold these repeat gun offenders accountable for their actions, we’re going to continue to see this violence,” Johnson said.

Overall this year, there have been 467 homicides in Chicago, more than New York City and Los Angeles combined.

“We also recover more guns than New York and L.A. combined, but that just shows you the proliferation of guns out here in the streets of Chicago,” Johnson said.

The staggering numbers of shootings and homicides were one reason why activist priest Rev. Michael Pfleger led an anti-violence meeting and peace march Wednesday night, including a die-in at 79th and Racine, where he called on Gov. Bruce Rauner to declare a state of emergency in the city.

Pfleger said that would free up federal funds to help local police. To drive home his point, he spelled out SOS, the universal distress signal, in a gallon of red liquid he called “blood.” He also lowered the American flag outside his church, and raised it again upside down, which is officially recognized as a distress signal.

He vowed that the march would not be his last traffic-stopping protest.

“We shut down downtown when our kids get shot, and we shut down the South Side when our kids get shot, and you know what? It’s time all over this city to shut streets down,” he said.

Pfleger also criticized Chicago Fraternal order of Police president Dean Angelo Sr., who repeatedly has asked officers not to volunteer for overtime during the Labor Day weekend.

“When the stupid federation of police president told police officers ‘don’t do any overtime’ to make some political point, go to hell. Go to hell, Angelo,” he said.

The union has said the three-day Labor Day weekend should be considered “FOP Unity Days.”

“In order to show unity and protest the continued disrespect of Chicago police officers and the killings of law enforcement officers across our country, we are requesting FOP members to refrain from volunteering to work (overtime),” the union said in a memo to Chicago FOP members.

Angelo has said the request is not a negotiation ploy or a job action. He says this is about one thing: officers spending time with their families.

Has BLM taken to the streets yet? Are there massive marches and outcry? Has CNN devoted 72 hours to it yet?

Or are they all busy taking on some meanie police officer pulled over a minority for speeding?

After a bloody August saw homicides climb to a 20-year high, a deadly Labor Day weekend sent Chicago’s 2016 homicides soaring past 500, surpassing total murders for 2015 with four months still left in the year.

The Dems might wanna look into moving up the election date before too many more of their base ends up in the morgue. Also an ad buy at the local ER's might not be a bad idea.

Heard some guy (gee, guess his race) on the news. He was given an open ended question as to how to end this.

He blamed EVERYone - cops, politicians, etc.. - EXCEPT the people actually pulling the trigger.

Funny, my Dad had 8 brothers, lived in what became Denver's landfill, Dad was a janitor at a Catholic school, they could never play ball together, because they only had 2 gloves between all of them -

...And none of them every thought to shoot someone because they 'disrepeked' them.

Honestly, AIDS was supposed to be the CIA's way to kill blacks off according to Rev Wright) (- didn't work. Glad some entrepenuers are taking care of thinning out the tribe themselves.

I wonder when Rahm will consider it a crisis

Sounds cynical, but it's me...

Truth is, if you mapped out the shootings, they're very much largely confined to a few square block area. Honestly, at this point, Chicago already has tough gun laws, their have been all kinds of efforts in the past, I think most of the 'power money' is thinking a lot like me - just sick of it. - "Fine, kill yourselves, we'll just contain the blast radius and let the animals run the zoo."

It's not like these thugs are going to swing an election anytime soon.

And yeah, as has been pointed out - where the fock is BLM in all this?
