Couldn't agree more. I understand volume players, but these guys overvalue it greatly. To a fault. I've pretty much started igonoring projections entirely. The fantasy machine has watered down quality insight.

I listen to the 06010 pod cast with Matthew Berry during the week some when on a jog or whatever. Its pretty good at times with SBell injury insight etc.

 

It however seems this year they are trying to be wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too comical. Heck the first 10minutes you have to fast forward through do to all the "funnies" they are trying to pull.

 

MB annoys me also because right before Field Yates tries to make a point about a football player that is relevant to FF , Berry busts in and interrupts , starts talking about how its better to edge before you Mow or some goofy nonsense like that.

I agree with many of your points. Berry tries too hard to be funny at the start of the show and they're always making inside jokes and references. Stephania Bel's voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Berry does interrupt Field a lot.

 

Also, is it just me or is Field's mic always too low? Either that or he's not speaking into it. His voice trails off a lot. Despite all that, I am a fan once they start talking fantasy.

Nate was the glue for the podcast. He'd put Matt in his place and things would go on. Field doesn't work the same way so Berry runs wild too often. I like Chris Harris and the footballers more at this point.

 

I love Berry though. He's been great for fantasy football and he's my entry point for so much of the online and podcast content I consume during the season. I respect the hell out of him for fighting through the leaner times and trying to create and deliver.

 

I swear ESPN is stretching him as thin as they can right now. It hurts the audio and tv stuff to me.

 

Side: who is really trying to hold any one entity to all of their predictions when so much weird stuff happens every week?

 

I always read the love/hates but by no means do I swear by it. I use it as a piece of info and I almost always take a valuable stat or two away from it. And I'm basically never sitting around on Tuesday mad at Berry cuz he loved or hated the wrong person.
