***American History Draft***

Recommended Posts

Not that he's a sleeper or anything but I was hoping he'd be there for me at the turn. He impacted generations of kids worldwide.

I went with Walt as the man, but what Disney has turned his empire into with movie acquisitions of Marvel and Star Wars, make his name probably the biggest business in the history of the world

I have questions. What is wild card ? Someone we move to another category later ? Just an extra slot ?

My next pick can fall into multiple categories- do I have to lock it in now ?

Can we switch later ? Think we did that in moviedraft. I don't want to make it harder for Volty.

Lastly we are picking one from each category right ?

Three from each category, six wildcards.

Yes, you can move people later.

Wildcard it whatever you want. Could be overflow from other categories. Could be someone who doesnt really fit any category.

You can shuffle picks. I hope you would put your pick initially where ever you think/hope it will go long term so as to make things easier for me.

As for wildcard, it's a catchall category for people with no distinct home or a category you have too much in.

3.04 - J. Robert Oppenheimer and Enrico Fermi - physicists

It was a larger group of scientists than two, but these two headed up the Manhattan project on the science side, ushering in the nuclear age and leading to the end of WWII.

Who can I send my pick to (heading to bed here)?

You can send it to me if you want, I'll be up for another 2 or 3 hours. Or just make your pick in the morning if you don't think you'll miss your 12 hour window.

Not trying to pull a fast one here. I wanted the inventor of the bomb. No one man did that. These two were the lead scientists in charge of the project and team that did (again, the science side. Someone else was in charge of the logistical side.) You said a close collaboration was ok. These two collarborates about as closely as it gets.

I will, of course, bow to the will of the group Of course.

I think just change it to Manhattan Project Group

I personally would have picked Oppenheimer eventually, but never Fermi

Maybe you'll disagree, but it just seems to me you'd be better off with Oppenheimer alone or Fermi alone rather than Oppenheimer and Fermi together.

In the world draft, people had to research their late picks. We got some interesting people I never heard of before. That part is fun.

I'm confused. American History isn't all about individuals but many times about events that happen. :dunno:

This plan sucks. How about instead you make a list and send it to somebody to make picks when you are on the clock.

You guys will have to bear with me today and tomorrow, I will try my best to stay on top of it. But this weekend I will create a list and send it to someone.

I'd lean toward keeping them separate (if it were for the inventors category, I could consider them a pair).
