Partly because I never found anything I really wanted to do. I do daddy pretty well. You're going to think you got this kid until she's 18 and she leaves the house. You really have her until she's about 8 because she gets friends and she's realizes you don't know shitt". I enjoy my freedom I respect that - - A LOT. mine are 12 and 9 - and make no mistake - I'm all in on the parenting thing - you have to be - and for those that don't want to be, they just shouldn't be parents. jerryskids 5,169 Posted May 22, 2018 Son (22) just graduated and has a job as a product marketing manager with a major semiconductor company. I'm incredibly proud of him as I wanted to help (I sell into that industry so have a bazillion contacts) but he wanted to do it on his own. Daughter (almost 20) just started an internship. She is in Pittsburgh for 2 weeks of training then heads to San Diego for 2.5 months to help repair commercial circuit breakers. Which probably means hold the wrench for the person who actually knows how not to get electricuted... nonetheless, also proud of her getting that job. Also she had lived in a dorm and a shared house the past two years but will be living with us next school year which should be interesting. Daughter (almost 17) is the one with diabetes and also at that PITA age for girls. Thankfully I know from her older sister that it goes away eventually... mostly...
