Falcons at Eagles: In-Game Discussion

Two late TD runs.

His utilization will be a huge concern. Only played in 39% of the snaps.

Did anyone draft him as a 280 carry 1200 yard back? I dont think so.

His usage last night was right on par with last year where he is 875 rush yards in 14 games.

It isnt ideal but what are people expecting? He was injured a little just a few weeks ago. He isnt going to see 25 carries and 5 catches but perhaps they eased him back in a little.

What is more important is if they use him a lot inside the 10.

I think that sentiments like most people have about Foles, which is he didn't have a good game last night, actually costs him money in the end. Some players are made excuses for over and over. Everyone and their mom loves Phillip Rivers, even though he never takes his team anywhere. Foles wins a SB and is the MVP, people think he sucks because of a game that didn't see him as a statistical God. Give me a winner who can shine in the spotlight while getting thrown into awkward situations over a guy like Rivers who has been the unquestioned starter forever and still can't do anything actual football results wise with his team.

Dude he caught lightening in a bottle. What was he doing the prior 7 or 8 years?

Kudos to him for stepping up last year. He deserves to be a hero in philly forever.

But we are talking about a career backup that took over a number 1 seed and had some good games in good moments.

No one is saying he is garbage. He is a good backup and would be a below average starter.

He was only winning with the Eagles when he played. 19-10 record with the Eagles and his one start with the Chiefs. 54 TD to 20 int ratio. Very good starter numbers. Better than most QBs

Oh come on dude he had a fluke 27-2 td-int way back.

Look at the other years compared. He was a below 60% passer. Low yards per attempt.

Again he doesnt suck. But come on.

We will see next year when he heads a team and has to play 16 games. I wish it was with the Bears.

A little Fluky, but he is that good. He just wins. We will see all the excuses pour in when Foles is undefeated for the first quarter of the season as the starting QB.

So the way the Eagles use Agholor, the slow non separating not that athletic smaller ish receiver, Teams should be begging for CPat to use in that manner. A far superior athlete and receiver imo

I suppose you could look at it this way.....that gadget play where they handed the ball to Agholor who then threw to a wide open Foles in the right flat was Foles way of telling Agholor... "See ? THIS is how you create yards of separation. "

But the truth of the matter is that Agholor was measured last year as having the team's largest yards of separation among the WRs at 3.0 and also the Eagles' fastest game speed.

Perhaps Jerrery's absence caused the routes to be schemed differently so that things didn't look or flow as smoothly for Agholor as they did last year but the fella caught 8 out of the 10 targets that came his way. How much more separation did he really need, then ?

I think everyone else needs to... His receivers were HORRIBLE last night. Agholor, his best receiver, had a man draped on him all night. He couldn't get separation from my grandma.

But to be fair, your grandma got skilz.

Beating me in 2013 when he was picked up 5 min before the game by the worst team in the league and threw 7 TDs against the Raiders.

"He just wins"

So no one in the league picked up on this killer insight for years until he "won" a SB? All Wentz did last year was win and was on his way to the MVP.

Gotcha.

We shall see next year.

He didn't need a ton of separation because Foles was hitting him with great throws. Also, his separation could probably be attributed to Wentz escaping pressure often. It also speaks to the level of talent of their receivers, which isn't much

without reading thru the entire thread...did anybody else notice that Ryan was floating a lot of throws? He seemed to lack some zip on the ball and arching them without as much pace. I know he's not Patrick Mahomes in the cannon department, but man his arm looked tired/weak last night. Anybody know if there were any injury concerns?
