Le'Veon expected back week 8

Recommended Posts

I'm happy that Conner gets a couple of nice matchups in the Falcons and Bengals before the bye.

Sounds like a trade situation, that’s right before deadline and he has to report to get traded.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Steelers are still "expected to be interested in listening to trade offers" for holdout Le'Veon Bell.

This is getting a little more interesting...

But wasn't this expected even with no trade?

he shaves 200 plus touches off when wear and tear are his primary concerns. It's not just the injury possibility. It's him pointing to a team and saying there are 200 touches less than I would have had. 200 touches YOU can have.

This man gets it. Powerful posting.

Bell wont be traded if the Steelers know whats good for them. Nobody will trade with them halfway thru the season. Perfect spot selected by LeVeon to come back. Puts the Steelers between a rock and a hard place, especially with Connor not getting it done and the team losing.

Well played.

They will roster exempt him for 2 games, then he won't play because of some mystery injury. I bet he doesn't carry the ball 50 times this season.

Nah. They want to win. Why roster exempt him? Hell be out there.

Under 50 carries? In what universe? He can get that in 2 games :D

He obviously is doing ok without that 6 million. Stop watching that mans pockets.

Its worth it to him if he minimizes risk, exposure to injury, and wear and tear. Once he gets that long term deal, he is golden. Wont even miss that 6 million

Not if he gets his big pay day.

In contract, tear an ACL and watch a BIG contract go up in smoke.

Pitt can put him on at least 2 weeks of exemption and not pay him. And if they deem he is not in shape, then even longer.

If Pitt loses the next two games to the Falcons and Bengals, and he walks into the locker room and sits down at his locker, how do you think his locker mates are going to treat him? Plus, I think Pitt puts him out for at least 2 more weeks if they lose those games. That's 2 more weeks of his salary that reduces their amount spent against next years salary cap.

If he ended up like Earl Thomas, would you say the same thing? Sitting out increases his chances of getting to that big payday.

He is playing his cards right

That’s not how it works. He loses 6 mil but could have lost a lot more long run if he played and put 400 touches on his body. This years money is peanuts compared to what he stands to gain in free agency and the subsequent years he can remain on whatever team signs him to a big deal. The 6 mil comes with tangible risk that isnt worth it at all compared to what he gets if he just does nothing at all.

Exactly. Let's base it off the value of Antonio Brown's contract (which is what Bell wants to get paid).

Most rational minded individuals would sacrifice $60 today to make upwards of $680 in the future with about $190 guaranteed. Just because you attach a few zeros to the number doesn't change the principle of future deferrals vs. the present value of money.

Play the game yourself.

If I offered you $6000 now, or $68,000 (paid over 4 years), with a guarantee of $19,000. Almost everyone would take the deferred offer. Same principle for Bell.

People are measuring his behavior by their own finances, not his.

no, the roster exemption only lasts for 2 weeks. after that they can bench him but are required to pay him, even if he doesn't play. they could put him on IR but would still owe the contract.
