Been away from Chicago for a long while, living in the New York City area. Pizza sucks in this area of the country. Sloppy weak "crusts" is the way around here.

 

So I buy a frozen Red Baron cheese pizza. Add fresh sliced pepperoni and sliced tomatoes. Bake until crispy. Add a heavy amount of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.

 

Not exotic, but way better than anything New York has to offer.

I can be ok with an odd interpretation of pizza. A BBQ chicken pizza is a nice occasional change of pace.

 

Once had a nice Korean pizza with kimchi and spicy chicken.

 

Had a carribean pizza with jerk chicken and mango.

 

But usually, yeah, I want the classics. They're classic for a reason.

I know I'm sposed to be all "grr, pepperoni only, grr.."

 

But actually I kind of like the combination of Hawaiian pizza.

 

What's weird is Donatos puts sliced almonds on their Hawaiian pizza. And I normally like nuts in a lot of different foods. But that doesn't work.
