Nancy Pelose elected speaker

Recommended Posts

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/pelosi-sees-new-dawn-as-diverse-116th-congress-begins/ar-BBRLGJq?ocid=ientp

Pelosi, elected speaker 220-192, took the gavel saying voters opted for a "new dawn" in the November election and are looking to "the beauty of our Constitution" to provide checks and balances on power. She faced 15 "no" votes from fellow Democrats.

Only until a dems takes the White House that is.

That woman is a freaking nightmare.

Why? She's already failed in that position before. Why would the dems double down on her again?

Can you imagine the whining if a man got in instead of her, might be best for everyone that we not have THAT stupidity blasting out from CNN

Dems are garbage for this. More of the same, same as it's always been.

TBH, I'd rather have more of Pelosi & Co than the far-left progressives (Ocasio-cortez, sanders, etc...) that are trying to take over the party. That's dangerous for America and the Democratic Party is under threat of becoming a far-left party if they let more of these socialists/marxists in.

More of the same, is better than the far left. However, in the end, the only thing that really matters is checks and balances on the twittard in chief. If the republican congress proved anything over the last two years, it's that they lack the testicular fortitude to stand up to Trump. I personally think a split between the legislature is good regardless of who is president. Elected officials should compromise and work on behalf of all people.

Good Post.

Although, I'm not sure what "standing up to Trump" actually means? Are the Republicans suddenly going to pass Democrat policies to "stand up" against him? I'm not sure what you're expecting them to do. Trump is Trump and he'll continue to be the same - he ain't changing for anyone.

So maybe GOP and DNC work together and somehow entice Trump with sugar instead of spite and venom.

Thoughts?

I agree with this sentiment in theory, unfortunately both parties are a bunch of Veruca Salts when it comes to working together. I heard some of Pelosi's speech today and liked the werds about crossing the aisle, but at this point I'll have to see it to believe it. :(

Yah, I'm not sure what the answer is. Obviously this has nothing to do with 5.6B, as that's a drop in the bucket, compared to what they waste on any given week. It seems to be a battle of ideologies and appealing to their bases. Trump wants to fulfill a campaign promise to the people who voted for him, and give him some ammo for 2020. Democrats believe the majority of Americans do not want a wall. The problem is both sides are using working class folk as political pawns. People barely scraping by are having their livelihood put in jeopardy by a bunch of bickering old rich people.

As for standing up to Trump, it's not that I want them to pass democrat policies. It's more of a standing up for the principles of the party. I do concede that the people who have done that have been fed to the wolves though. I just don't believe Trump reflects the true ideology of the party.

At the root, my problem with Trump is Trump is all about Trump. I don't think he values the opinions of his advisers, and wants to surround himself with a bunch of yes men. That's not really the way a democracy is designed to function properly. Like everyone else, I just want the best for our country and a government that works on behalf of us all. :dunno:

That's like 5 posts in a row where all agreed on something and didn't try to make it personal or get under each other's skin.

That has to be a record or something.

Why cant you have both? Why isnt it possible to put America first, but not be so naive to the fact that we have a global economy and the stability of the world also makes America stronger? I think people confuse patriotism with nationalism.

Simply because everything the Left believes in and does is anti American. :dunno:

It is Crystal clear that the Dems have learned nothing from 2016. They should beat trump easily. Instead, it will be very close one way or another.

Who should they have chosen that you would think equates to them beating Trump easily?

I'm just saying, for two years they've done nothing but double down on the stupid sjw crap that doesn't play in middle America.

You're right, there is no obvious candidate. That is another way they've failed. They should have been grooming some youngish, moderate, charasmatic guy, preferably a midwesterner, to run on a blue collar platform.

But they're arrogant, and will roll into 2020 with the same crap that got rejected already.

Yeah. Ive noticed the trend. No matter who gets mentioned, Republicans shake their heads and say the Democrats havent learned their lesson. My suspicion is that there isnt anyone alive that would call themselves a Democrat and not garner a similar reaction from Republicans.

Also, I dont believe that Majoritiy or Minority Leaders and Speakers play a big role in Presidential Elections. My bet is that 95% of Americans cant even name one of them at any given time.

I'm not really a republican. Never voted for one for president.

Now I can't really say I'm a Democrat either. Would like to see them return to the realm of the sane though.

Not sure what you saw over the last 2 years.

I saw a traitorous keep the American people from getting affordable healthcare (fortunately karma gave him what he deserved in the end).

I saw a duo of impotent cucks (Corker, Flake) attempt to block Trump every step of the way.

I saw the House and Senate fail to pass a budget, or fund the wall, which was a mandate from the American people when Trump was elected.

I saw a gaggle of bought and paid for scumbags do nothing for the president or their constituents, only make decisions for their lobbyists and puppet masters.

Now that Shitstain No Name is dead and gone, Flake and Corker were forced to resign, and the Senate was solidified with a bigger margin (minus Flake 2.0 in Romney) I expect the table will be set for Trump to do whatever the he wants for the next 6 years.

2018-2020: appoint judges, continue to improve the economy for all Americans (including browns, womens, and poors), continue to dominate on the foreign policy front (and usher in even more non-globalist/pedophile leaders as we have seen in Italy, Brazil, etc), let the Dems continue to humiliate themselves with a fabricated Russia investigation and push to full on communism, continue to expose DC and the MSM for the traitors they are.

2020-2024: R's win back the House, expand lead in the Senate, Trump is re-elected.... and we exterminate the filth that have taken over this country like a metastatic tumor.

The Dems controlling the House offers them no advantage. Only mentally ill people want 2 years of muh Russia and muh Hitler. The average American doesn't give a about anything coming out the Dems or CNNs mouth.
