Kurt Cobain ate a shotgun blast 25 years ago today...

Recommended Posts

Hard to believe it has been that long...

I still remember the people crying over him killing himself...  Still don't know why they cried...

Dave grohl does an absolutely brilliant and brutal take down of Courtney Love about this. Jesus, when you know what he's talking about, it is absolutely heart-wrenching and viciously brutal.

Let it die.

What’s with all the Nirvana hate? Miles better than the trans rock coming out in the prior decade.

RIP

meh ... they were very good musically, but they virtually emasculated the "Rock Star" persona ... birth of the SOY BOY generation.

So Nirvana emasculated the rock star but the high heel wearing, permed hair trans rockers of the 80s didn’t? Am I missing something?

I was a teenager in the '80s and the girls would do pretty much anything to see that "trans rock" music live...

Nirvana, not so much...

That was also a time with less music options, so more women listened to rock in the 80s.

The 60s and 70s birthed the biggest generation of femanine men. Thankfully the early millenials came around and decided we weren't going to dress and look like women like the previous generation

Nirvana unplugged is one of the finest live albums ever recorded. I still listen to it to this day.

The only song they made that moved me was Come as You Are. Loved Alice And Chains unplugged cd. To each his own.

It really is. I don't get the hate here. Nirvana was unique at the time with their own sound. Their lyrics were well written. They are one of the few bands I can listen to pretty much any time and not get sick of.

I agree. They put out 3-4 great albums. That’s more than most bands in a 20-year career.

Everybody else matters less in rock & roll.   😎

The Beach Boys have been a major influence for many bands.

the Ramones (or, to a slightly lesser extent, the Sex Pistols) belong in that chain as the bridge from Hendrix to Nirvana.
