Are bears the only mammals who hydrogenate?

And if so, why? Couldn't mountain lions do roughly the same thing? Just store up on food and then sleep for 4 months?

 

I mean, that pretty much describes football season to a T.

Anyhow, just seems like if it works for one mammal, it should work for other mammals in the same environment too.

Yeah I think it may be like super-mediation. Tibetan monks can do amazing things with their bodies, heartbeat, breathing, core temperature, etc.
