Buttigieg eliminates O'Rourke

Quote

Pete Buttigieg’s increasingly popular presidential run has drawn the support of more than two dozen top Democratic fundraisers, including people who bundled big-dollar donations for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton during their White House bids, according to a list CNBC obtained from campaign aides.

This guy single-handedly destroyed Beto O'Rourke's opportunity to vie for the presidency.  😂

I wonder what Beto is thinking...."crap, a gay guy stepped in, he is higher than me on the grievance hierarchy"  :wall:

LMFAO, I really am entertained watching the leftist party eat itself over and over again....

You should start a band called The Grievance Hierarchy.

I'll admit the following. Beto had my initial support, and I donated money. Beto hasn't done anything to lose me, but Buttigieg is impressing me more and more, and if I had to vote for one of them today, I'd vote for Buttigieg.

Now I have no idea what you are speaking of with "grievance hierarchy". I just like the way these two appear to carry themselves. I don't even have a solid feel for their stances on all of the issues yet, so much as I have a feel for their thought/decision making processes.

So yes, based on I, they do appear to be vying for the same type of voter. But whereas you seem to think not having things decided more than a year in advance is the party eating itself, I just like having 2 options I feel good about thus far as opposed to only 1.

As been mentioned before, ability to generate money is at the top of the list for nominees.  Buttigieg seems to be able to do this well.

Beto plays in Texas, I haven't seen much inspiration for him elsewhere.

No he doesn't.  Even with all the Hollywood money he raised he still could not managing to beat one of the most flawed, focked up candidates in the country.  People like CB that give money and vote on looks like Beto.  Shallow Hollywood types like Beto for this reason.  His policies are god awful.  He is nothing more than a polished Bernie Sanders.  A one trick millionaire pony, tax the rich so everything will be free.

The fact that he goes by a fake nickname is enough for me. :dunno:

Can you imagine if this butt pirate or any butt pirate for that matter was voted in?

-white house painted pink

-american flag replaced with rainbow

-everyday would be pride day

-End of the straight white male as we know it and they feel fine

-hot lesbians would be outlawed

I would rather have another black one than a tinkerbell.

Give me a responsible gay male over anyone on the "hierarchy".  These guys are naturally conservative.

For one, the right wingers here are of the belief that every Dem candidate's policies are awful, they all want to tax the rich, etc. So a right wing poster stating a Dem candidate's policies are "god awful" doesn't hold much weight.

That said, yes at this point my leanings are based on "looks". Generally speaking, all of the Dem candidates are going to have similar stances on policy. There will be some nuance, etc, but they will all be on essentially the same side relative to where Trump stands (if anything, Beto and Buttigieg are more moderate than others like Bernie, Warren, etc)....So at this point I'm more interested in how these candidates carry themselves, what their motivation for running is, how their minds work, etc.

Every vote for a democrat is one vote closer to socialism.  I don't care about any policy from the left other than that one main objective.  It's why I will never vote for a democrat again.  Bill was the last.

Similar except for the levelheaded and smart part; but I get your point. Evangelical won't vote for him; they wouldn't even vote for a woman. Catholics, rednecks? The Black culture is at least somewhat homophobic. I think it is just too much to overcome.

I am really surprised that the AA community is not really vocal in opposition to the Democratic position on immigration.  Everything about immigration is a direct threat to the AA community and the devotion of the Democratic party to it is such an obvious affront to the support from the AA community.....

I agree. Old stereotypes die hard. Some voters are going to wonder if he will be tough enough or respected on the workd stage etc. because he’s gay. I could see him as a VP pick but no way he wins the ticket.

Democrats say they want to tax the rich, then they tax the middle class.  Every time.  So it's not the rhetoric of the policy, it's the reality.

As a catholic and a conservative, I have no problem voting for a gay guy.  I just have a problem with voting for a democrat.

I think they are, with their votes.  Trump got a higher black % of votes than any Republican candidate in decades.  Ben Carson, Tim Scott (in SC), and Candace Owens are starting to influence black people that the right side of the ticket is more beneficial towards their needs than the left.  They're starting to see common sense and logic.

AA..African American! At Presidential primary time in my neighborhood all the Blacks were in the Republican line. The voters in the Republican line were 97% of the people present at the polling place.

I have gay friends and family members.  I don't care who they sleep with, as long as the guy isn't a jackazz.  They're great people, that's all that matters.  Even though some vote democrat. 😄

Yes, ALL politicians do this.  That's why I don't want them controlling any more than what is necessary.

Beto has no policies and I agree butt boy is the best most moderate candidate to date

Right. Any elected official that wants to have government handle things, such as healthcare, is something i oppose on principle.

I trust them not at all....

For one, I'm not a right winger.  You are absolutely incorrect about Beto being moderate.  He is firmly in the same camp as Bernie and Warren.  Buttigieg does seem to be moderate at this point.

This post right here is a great example of low info/mid class whites/soccer moms think.

All they care about are "appearances", how someone "carries themselves", their political positions are irrelevant.

Based on this shallow and immature way of thinking, Beto's campaign is over. He was out-well-spokened by someone with a real victim badge (gay) instead of a fake Mexican nickname.

Republicans cut taxes, don't cut spending because it's too hard, then borrow to make up the difference. Dems are slightly less irresponsible. They're happy to pass out 'free' lollipops and cotton candy and gumdrops but at least they also raise taxes when they do so. That, plus being less likely to invade global Sh*tholeistans is why I prefered the Dems fo so many years until recently.

Trump is less inclined to get troops blown up policing some Islamic toilet, he's repairing trade agreements, and meanwhile the Dems have gone full bore on identity politics. Since Trump is going in the general direction I want to go, while the Dems are going focking batsh*t crazy, I'll be sticking with Trump for the time being. It's mind-blowing to me that a faction of Democrats have emerged that I hate worse than the Hillary/Pelosi/Schumer faction.  I didn't think it was possible. Meanwhile Trump has my gratitude for taking the GOP away from the neocon Bush/Romney Republicans. Fock them.

I use to think the Christian fundies were oppressive - now I miss them. The LBGT wackos are 100x worse.

Anyway, if the Dems show me some semblance of sanity come 2022 or 2024, we can re-evaluate the situation then. Likely I'll be sticking with Team Trump for a while, the water's fine so far as I'm concerned.
