The south will rise again

Recommended Posts

So I've been putting a lot of thought into places that have been ruined mostly by tell fornicators but others as well lately. These freaking millennial jerk-offs. mostly, though the media won't tell you this, it's mostly about white flight en masse.

Think about it, and just the past Decatur Co, Portland, Austin, Seattle, Tacoma, most of Western Colorado, and now virtually all of Texas is being invaded by these jerkoffs.

Which led me to think, what are the next cool places to rise? For example, I used to love Nashville. It was a hidden little gem so to speak. And now it's been ruined as well.

So I started looking around and honestly? It seems like the south is the new trending just be on the cusp of the media hotspot. Alabama voting places have some really nice controlled communities. AKA white communities. Same thing with parts of Mississippi and of course the Carolinas are doing well.

Denver has basically become a raging s*******. And the surrounding areas as well. So much so, the people are now flooding into the Eastern plains which are basically something out of a Steinbeck novel. Just flat and dirt as far as the eye can see.

The Northeast? Christ, it seems like everybody's leaving there. Even idyllic places like Connecticut have roont themselves through over taxation and over government control.

So, where do you think the next or the current cool places that aren't yet ruined our? Fishtown? Upper peninsula Michigan? I'm sorry, but anything that gets those brutal weather Winters is pretty well crossed off the list.

Hearing that New Mexico is getting a lot of attention by retirees these days. Again, Florida was pretty well ruined by all the Cubans and Ricans down Doug and rednecks up north.

Kind of sucks. Seems to me we need a really good round of plague to whittle the population down by a solid 20%. Preferably something that caucasians are naturally resistant to.

Do you think rap music could somehow spread viruses?

I was thinking Coeur D'Alene but that place was discovered 10-15 years ago.  I haven't been to Boise but I know people who love it.

Exactly. I was actually going to respond but you beat me to it. Hollyweird got wind of that place and of course rooned it. But it was cool.

I've mentioned this before, but I think it's hysterical that New Zealand was going to be the place that all be Hollywood Hot shots and other Uber Rich Americans we're going to go to to get away from everything. And then New Zealand said GTFO.

I forget who they were, but a couple of them violated New Zealand's morals clause for immigrants. 😁

F*** that. Something like 99% of the things that can kill you live down there. I'm pretty sure the only thing that can kill you that doesn't live in or around Australia are polar bears.

My cousin and her family recently left the Colorado birds to go to upstate New York. On the map, it looks like someplace the Unabomber would camp out. But, if the boys finish high School they get free college education per state law I guess. And it's absolutely gorgeous there.

Other than the winters, I get the impression that the people there are more than happy to let the rest of the country think that New York is made up of purely New York City.

I always wanted to do like a river tour that hit the various wineries and stuff up there. And from talking to my cousin, it's just a bunch of really nice communities.

Hell, I guess if you can take the train from Connecticut, you can certainly take the train from there downtown if you had to.

Not sure if the "south" will rise again, I would submit it would be more of a rural v urban fight....

Asheville, NC is pretty cool but MAJORLY liberal and hipster. If the south did rise again the north would be focked cause it’s mostly full of poosays who are scared of guns, can’t use a knife, and haven’t ever been in a fight their whole life (see most of the geeks here). Just sayin

Is the 1000 year old prison that David Sweat and Richard Matt shawshanked themselves out of still open or did they come in and shut her down?

I believe they filmed Shawshank there, and the movie saved it.  In fact, as I understand it the heavy machinery was there in the AM to start tearing it down, and the movie folks showed up, managed to halt it all.....i believe it started as a kids reformatory...

Shawshank was filmed at the Ohio State Reformatory. I was asking Bandrus about Dannemorrah where those dudes escaped and hid in the woods for 3 weeks.

My wife and I are contemplating places to relocate for retirement. Boise was hot a few years ago. A few years from now it will be filled with asshoIes from California who will roon it.

We thought about Vegas. Any artist you are into will make their way through Vegas to perform at some point. Plenty of top notch restaurants. Its a great place for friends and family to visit without staying too long. Plus we aren't degenerate gamblers so, no danger there.

We're currently looking at Northern AZ. Cheaper property, short enough drive to Vegas for the above mentioned reasons but far enough away that we can be left alone when we want. Still close enough to friends and family in California to make visiting relatively convenient for us.

Assuming it does not get rooned in the next 25 years and assuming I live that long (big if there) I want to go to the Knoxville area. Decent weather year round, southern folk (I tend to get along with rednecks better than other groups), mountains, and moonshine.

I love practically everything about AZ, both Phoenix and the north country.  The ONLY issue I have is lack of lakes.  Up north, you can live in the Flagstaff area which is pretty affordable and hipster cool, but you won't be on a lake.  Lake Powell on the Utah border is maybe an hour away and has phenomenal houseboating, but you wouldn't be living on it.

My wife grew up boating in Michigan.  I feel like we need to retire on a lake somewhere.  Hence my earlier comment about Coeur D'Alene.

That is my main concern as well. My wife and I are lifelong Californians. We both grew up going to the beach and nearby lakes. The lack of any type of nearby water is the only thing that gives me pause. I guess there's Lake Havasu but that would be at least an hour away from anywhere we would end up.

Yep, I think harder after 40.  They were pretty tough on some folks trying to enter illegally there.  I'd have to do the research but seems like basically they are detained on an island offshore somewhere.

Yeah, they do have some island like that I hear.

I knew a lady who was an American citizen, a nurse, no record. Husband was an Australian citizen. They couldn't get her citizenship.

My Australian friend here says you get two residence visas for wives. Ever. He already burned one on his first wife, so he always jokes he has to be really sure about wife number 2.

Lake Mead, Havasu, Powell are all in driving distance from Flagstaff, but they are a commute.  My limited experience with Mead and Powell implies you can't actually live on them, but I could be wrong.  Havasu maybe but I've only driven thru there on our way to Vegas.

I'm pretty sure you can keep a boat in a slip on Powell, and it is freaking awesome, so that would be my call.

I've always wanted to visit Costa Rica, everyone says it is great.  As a salesperson I've learned to hate people so maybe we just get a place on the ocean there and I can chat with you folks.  :dunno:

Now that you mention those, they have closer proximity to water to the east.  I've stayed in both and they are close enough to civilization to work, particularly Pine.
