wiffleball 4,639 Posted June 9, 2019 So, I started volunteering a bit at a local shelter kitchen. One of the chefs cracks me up - dead ringer for Brett Butler. This isnt about her. The other night, one of the other chefs has the place set up prior to seating. Prepared beef stroganoff tableside, real time while explain herbs, ingredients, technique, terminology, etc. Turns out, some of the staff are inmates returning to life. This is one of the career paths they'll sample, then choose from a handful. Chef? Is the Executive Head Chef at the Broadmoor. (Uber fancy) Most didn't even know that. He didn't make fun of people who didn't know shallotts (for ex.) Dude has Xed at places all over the globe. Bet he pulls Large Coin. Does this on his own time. Nicest guy. Even had a sign up sheet to take guys fishing on his boat. The Best restaurants often have Family Dinner; to go over specials, prep, ingredients. He wanted these guys to be trained at least as well.
