I wish the Cubs would have released Addison Russell and found a way to keep LaStella.  He's not the greatest with the glove, but the kid can flat out hit.

lol at Vlad Guerrero Jr in the conversation with 150K votes.  He has only has 137 AB and there are 9 3rd basemen in the AL hitting better than his  .248.

Pay your dues sonny.

Josh Bell has been struggling a ton in June.  Batting like .220 or so.

Well, it's not easy to keep hitting .390, is it?  The fact that you think he's "struggling a ton" in June, where he has an .787 OPS should tell you that he is All-Star worthy, considering that an .800 OPS is considered "above average".

For the most part, the struggles were in that 10-game road stretch.  Before that, he had an .871 OPS and after that, he's been at .805.  Not much to complain about.

OMG, are you saying that a baseball player is having a bit of a dry spell?  Holy cow, I've never once heard of that!  They should cut him.

Didn't watch the game........but many around here are saying Gallo got robbed for MVP.

Any merit to it - or just Rangers homer noise?

Didn't watch the game........but many around here are saying Gallo got robbed for MVP.

Any merit to it - or just Rangers homer noise?

The press obviously wanted to give it to a hometown guy.

I think there's validity to their claim.  Beiber came in to pitch the top of the 5th inning when the game was 1-0 and struck out the side.  Yeah, great inning, but with the NL struggling to get runners on base a 2-1 lead still isn't a lock.  The 2-run shot he hit to put the AL up 4-1 was BIG, especially since the NL put up 2 runs in their next AB.

Beiber getting it was a good call IMO, though Gallo getting it wouldn't have been bad either...  Those were the two greatest chances...

However, fans voted for MVP and was able to start in the 7th inning...  He probably had a big lead before Gallo's home run...
