Thank you for trying so hard to “reason” with me though.

Who wants to treat them like terrorists? Deporting them back to their country in an air conditioned plane with peanuts and a movie is the same as sending them to Guantanamo indefinitely ? Really?

So CBF, anything to say?

No, not really.

I mean, I shouldn’t have used the term “terrorists”. But then you equate the environment that Pence visited this week to an “air conditioned plane with peanuts and a movie.”

It’s obvious to me that you don’t actually want to have a debate on the issue. And in truth, I don’t know that I care to do so either with you. There are others here I would do so with, however.

Right. I'm the one who doesnt want to have a debate. I guess when that moral perch you've been bloviating from is taken away from  you it knocks you off your game.

What if instead Trump had emphasized that generations ago the families of these 4 congresspeople came to America to pursue the American dream and a better life for themselves and generations to come.  Then mentioned that they chose wisely because those places are in disarray now.  Then express disappointment that they are not working to enhance the American dream but rather to eliminate it with socialist policies.

Would that be racist? It is very similar to Trump's point, only more adult-like. :dunno:

There are likely an infinite number of instances in which two thoughts/ideas share 75%-90% of the same elements, yet one is bigoted or racist.

The key to expressing an idea in a non bigoted or racist manner seems to be not letting a bigoted racist do the expressing.

So Trump and my messages communicate the same theme, but because he is a bigoted racist, his message is bigoted racist? :dunno:

I don’t agree that your message and the bigot’s message are the same message. They simply share the same elements.

The energy behind your message is saying that those women have benefited from the American dream, and you are disappointed that they have beliefs that you don’t find in the best interest of the country. I disagree with this message, but it is political and can be debated as such.

However, the energy behind his message is that those women should go back to the countries their appearances, last names, and accents indicate to him that they came from...and stay out of voicing their opinions on a government that isn’t actually theirs.....This message can also be debated, but what we’d be debating is bigotry and racism.

Since you insist on calling Trump "the bigot" I don't see how we can have a constructive discussion on that.

But on the first part, do you think that the proposals of those congresspeople are consistent with the American dream?

Yeah, if you don’t recognize that he is a racist and a bigot, we just don’t see eye to eye there. Simply a difference of opinion.

As for the members of Congress that Trump thinks need to go back to their own countries, we’d have to go proposal by proposal and I’d have to research each one to have a real discussion on them. I mean, even as much as I despise Trump as a human being, I’m not going to blanket indict every proposal or move he has made as incorrect.

Trump is neither a racist nor a bigot. he is only that because you lost an election and it's tearing you up inside. So the only thing you can do now is lash out.

today, those words mean anybody that disagrees with you. It's like a badge of honor now since they dont really mean anything anymore.  You guys use them like pronouns.

It's not a badge of honor with me. I just wish those words meant the same things they meant when I were a kid. Nowadays, if you don't feel shame or pity at being white or male or straight, you are a racist and bigot. You're expected to self-flagellate and beg constant forgiveness for the transgressions of either yours or somebody else's ancestors, pay reparations, and support affirmative action because you are a bad, unworthy person.

Atonement may be attained by five times daily kneeling before the alter of intersecionality,, making posts that support intersectionality, not having white children and voting for Kamala Harris. Only then you will you find peace.

Line in sand getting dug in deeper.  This is becoming a lib/muslim/illegal alien vs Trump/USA/US citizen war.  So far just words and an a few molotov cocktails from the left.

The problem for the libs/muslims/illegal aliens, no matter how mad they all get, no matter how much they stomp their feet, spill their cereal, or even throw molotov cocktails at ICE agents, they are helpless.  Its doing no good. Do they not see that?   Trump is still president.  Man that's gotta eat at those fockers.  Ya jump, spit, break , vandalize, scream bloody murder til ya pass out, and when ya wake up....Trump is still there, and so are his backers.  And now you are hoarse. Is it worth it?

I know Newbserver can't reply because he went off his meds and threatened to kill someone again.

Can one of the other Trump haters explain why kids in cages/concentration camps was good under Obama but bad now?

I can't be the only one who remembers that weekend last summer when all of Hollywood and the media decided on the same day to post pictures of kids in cages. Only to learn the next day that all of those pictures were from 2014, under Obama. They even had the balls to delete the posts, and still .

I get people making posts like Newbserver because they are inflammatory and are effective trolls. But educated people can surely see the folly in this tactic.

This is why moderates look at the never ending cries of racism and Nazi and cages and laugh. Literally every single thing they about Trump, a few years ago Obama was doing. Sad!

As much as you enjoy day dreaming about this civil war, it’s really hard to see you ever being involved with the winning side.

You have no conviction. I mean, even on a message board full of strangers, you are afraid to stand by the things you think and have previously stated (before quickly deleting in fear).

And we are supposed to believe you’d have the conviction and resolution to stand up for what you believe when it’s an actual man standing across from you? When you don’t even believe in yourself enough to do it anonymously with strangers? Laughable.

On a side note, did you notice he didn't say anything mysoginistic in the tweets?  Not that I recall anyway.  This was all about putting in people's minds that these congresspeople want to take us down the path to shiothole status like the Middle East.  Hopefully we can agree that the Middle East is by and large a shiothole and there is nothing racist about that fact.  And drum up his base of course.  Is it accurate?  Eh, I don't think they want to do that, but it is strategically clever.

Regarding the desire for more immigrants/asylum seekers:  There was a time when the US was in hyper growth mode.  We could absorb darn near as many unskilled immigrants who dared the boat ride and they would go to go work in the mines and the mills and the railroads and the farms.  But we can't do that now.  Ours is a thought economy now; the immigrants we need have STEM, medical, etc. skills.  :dunno:

I posted recently, that a civil war won't happen, EVEN thought the libs/antifa/terrorist groups are pushing for it.  Its laughable that someone could be as soft as you and let your feelings control your behavior, vs your brain.   Come on man, get mad.  Throw molotov cocktail. Go burn down a building or a cop car.  Go hang with your peeps.

This is sickening. They truly hate this country.

A Texas congressman visited a Colorado Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility where left-wing protesters raised a Mexican flag in place of the American flag.

U.S. Rep. Chip Roy, a freshman Republican, told "Fox & Friends" Monday that he was in the Aurora area to attend a seminar, but felt compelled to visit the facility after seeing news about the protests.

"I walked through and I saw what any American would see: a law enforcement entity that is doing their job," he said.

A “Blue Lives Matter” flag, meant to support law enforcement, was also defaced with the words "Abolish ICE" and raised alongside the Mexican flag. Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the facility Friday ahead of ICE raids in at least 10 U.S. cities, voicing their anger over conditions for migrants at detention centers.

He said former President Obama believed in funding ICE, yet Democrats said nothing in opposition when he was in office.

"President Obama sent up a request for 760 million dollars for ICE. This president sent up 500 million and the Democrats fought it," he said.

I’m not going to give him credit for not being mysoginistic in a tweet. Basically you are saying that he is using xenophobia (i’d say racism) as a political tool, and you seem to be applauding it as clever.

As for the mills and railroads, whatever. They aren’t mutually exclusive, but increasing our wealth and making the world (or even our country) a better place aren’t identical things.

The first paragraph shows that you are interpreting things again thru your TDS lens.

Second paragraph, "whatever?"  You are better than that I thought.  And that last sentence makes no sense, please explain.

A couple of things that make me lose interest in these conversations:

People claiming that I’m a giant racist anytime I call something racist....and people claiming I have TDS when I give my opinion on Trump.

It doesn’t bother me personally. It just makes it clear that anything said will immediately be dismissed (which is fine), and I shouldn’t waste my energy.

You do realize that I pulled the TDS card after you completely dismissed my point about the mills and the railroads?  Perhaps I should be the one losing interest from such a response.  🤔

yeah, it sucks to be called a racist when someone doesn't agree with you doesn't it?

Fair enough. There isn’t any room for discussion on this board anyway. Ground is never given, etc. Every political discussion here is simply a search for the endorphin rush provided by echoes.

Real question.  Who and how are they targeting the illegals?

I’d venture to guess its illegals who came on the govt radar somehow.  As in didn’t show up for court (appointment) or are known criminals or somehow came on radar because they did something wrong.

Is that a fair assumption?

Huge problem with both of those questions posed to liberals. You nailed the first one. The second one, well, it's "their" version of what they want America to become. Because this version is opressive and racist and blahblahblah. They don't want a conversation. I believe they want what Britain, Germany and Canada have become. It's insane to me

Why should anyone give any ground to you?  You belong to a subset of people that derive some sense of social status and approval from being "anti-racist".  You've overused the word racist so that it has no real meaning, yet you continue label people racist as if you're some freedom fighter standing against the innumerable horde.  Then the same people you've labeled politely tell you to fock off and you say, "Well we can't have a real conversation here".
