I have bought exactly one thing thru Prime. It was a water shootin' toothbrush that broke too soon.

Might it be because you were using it as a bidet?

Picked up a firestick.  Pretty much giving it away at 14.99.  They must be selling a ton of them.  Bezos better hire more 8 year old indonesian kids to satisfy demand.

I was looking for a Chromebook for my youngest. The ones that they had on sale were not that great. Ended up grabbing something that wasn’t a special priced item.

Maybe something else will come up tomorrow.

My wife has a chromebook, but I just dont get them.  Seems like just an expensive web browser and access to google drive etc.  Are they really that useful?

I don't get them either. Seems like a laptop tablet with less functionality

I had one. I took it back to the store after 3 days. It's a laptop that has the bulk of a laptops functionality removed. I don't know why anyone wouldn't rather just buy a tablet honestly.

I can see it for a kid though. Or even a student. If ALL you do is web browsing and word processing, I guess it works.

After trying a friend's firestick I ended up buying a roku stick. One of the best purchases I've made. I think I paid 25.99? Simple interface, have had 0 connectivity issues and it functions as a volume and power for the TV not just the stick which was clutch for me because I had no remote and wanted to use a 32 inch Lcd monitor as a bedroom TV sans cable box..... Picture is great

I would love one, but without a VPN router, it would be useless to me in chiner.

For a HS student to use in class. They need a browser and access to Google Docs. Need a decent battery life, not too heavy and they can’t be that big (high school desks are still small).

I gave both of them laptops because I figured they would be better. Nope. So now I bought one a Chromebook and the other graduated.

I dunno...I'm not much of an Amazon guy cause I see them as taking over the planet and I don't really want to give them any more $$. I do get some stuff from there, especially things that might be hard to get.

I know it's not correct, but I see this whole Prime thing as a giant sheep fest.   Like watching a moving sidewalk pull people into a casino in Vegas.

I dont get a ton of stuff either, the only thing I use prime day for is some great deals.  The firestick for example, is $25 off.  Some people just buy shat cuz its advertised as a deal. You have to still shop around though.  My daughter wanted a Mickey Mouse charm for a bracelet. $30 on Amazon, $16 on manufacturer website.

Ok but what do you pay for the prime membership?  Cause you have to cover that nut too right?   You get to pay for the privilege of buying stuff from them.   And folks line up!

My family is exactly opposite of what I am reading here, I'm not exaggerating when I say there is a package at our door every other day.

We are a busy bunch, getting the essentials delivered to our door is extremely efficient and helpful.

True.  Its like $10 a month if u pay up front.  The convenience of getting things next day and savings on actual purchases more than covers it.

In addition to getting same day/next day shipping and Prime video - you also get to gift your membership privileges to like 4 others.

At $100 a year - that's s steal.

Next day shipping to me is not a biog deal.  I'm more patient than that.

Prime video is fine but I have too much TV already.

However I get the deal

Amazon sells mostly garbage anymore. Seems like half their sh1t is outright knockoffs.

And the prices aren’t great either. Prime Day prices are what their regular prices used to be.

@Meglamaniac was recently discussing aging barrels.  I popped onto amazon and found the same brand for about the same price.  With customization, they got it to me very quickly.

I got a good deal on two fishing rods, they would have cost twice what I paid at Bass Pro, Cabala's, or any other major retailer. Last year I got an exceptional deal on a reel, i could turn around and sell it right now used for 50 more dollars than what I paid.

Although I agree,  95% is over priced garbage from awful brands.

Lot of junk but, getting the brands you want from Amazon or reputable sellers isn't that difficult.

Some stuff isn't priced that great and some stuff is, if you don't need an item immediately add it to a list and keep an eye on it.  The prices fluctuate.

Both you and worms are correct. When you sale everything on the planet, 95% is bound to be junk.

I order from Amazon weekly or more. If you subscribe to their diaper and wipe delivery service it even competes with Costco when Costco has sales.

Maybe I'm the exception to the rule............but as a (moderately heavy) Amazon shopper, I've had nothing but praise for their service and products.

I always price check my items and even after doing so, they are almost always the cheapest... As far as quality, I've been fortunate there too - no complaints......... Maybe what I like 2nd best about Amazon (outside of fast ship) is their return policy. Damn near as soon as I drop off my return items at UPS - my account is credited back, even before Amazon physically receives my return.

Agree with all of the above.

Amazon is great compared to taobao. Some of the scams on there are insane.
