That is fine if you believe that, but this is the opposite of what trump stated which started this debate.

Trump told 3 people who were born in this country and a 4th who went through the proper channels to go back to their own country.

What you are stating, and what trump is stating is at odds.

He should have told them to go away. The only thing I disagree with him on is that he should have just told them to go away. They do not stand for our constitution. Go away and don't come back until they become worthy of being here. There are bad people who are citizens of this country. And he correctly picked on 4 of them.

Trump 2020!!

I’m not sure how you do that. When coming into the country they should be vetted. If born here the. That would be violating their rights.

I’m curious if anyone here ever puts themselves in other people’s shoes? Imagine being of different color, possible a Muslim, and trying to immigrate into America?  Could you imagine trying to put up with people like the members in this thread?

If you have any Irish in your family lines that immigrated here in the 19th century, I suspect they had it worse than anything encountered today and those were "white people".

You are so virtuous and noble. If you want to be here you assimilate and embrace american culture. I'm not concerned in the least in their feelings

So, how exactly does Islam work well with Western culture?  Are Islamic countries falling over each other to be Westernized?  So who exactly are the bigots?

With the exception of Tubby, I’ve never personally attacked anyone here as racist. I don’t know any of you well enough.

Although one of you got mad about even that the other day,  and claimed that I’m labeling everyone a racist because I won’t call out individuals...or something. I couldn’t follow the logic. It was a cant win for losing type thing.

It's funny, when you are on the streets in the middle east the people are typically rather engaging and kind, they hold no specific animus toward anyone.

It is the select, who are the loudest, and who are intent to manipulate people for power.  Not unlike the Democratic party and their media allies today.

Your average person in the middle east is street smart to the extreme, craft and clever.....but easily manipulated by those they would look to for religious guidance.  So when you have people who blow themselves up, or harm others for political gain, what you have are stupid people who were manipulated into pawns by a fervent and small section of people.....not unlike the "odd squad" we see in the Democratic party.

The only place i've been in the middle east is Palestine, the West Bank specifically. Talked to a few folks. They pretty universally to me had no love for Hammas and seemed to mainly be victims of their own leaders. Was pretty sad the hopelessness over there. They don't like the Israelis obviously, and its pretty hard to blame them.

How do you come up with that?  You don’t have to make up stuff you prove some kind of point or make yourself feel better.

If you have a legit defense for that I’d like to hear it and if I am proven wrong then I will apologize. I try not to throw around labels willy-nilly like that.

Same goes for climate change.  https://blogs.agu.org/sciencecommunication/2018/08/02/american-voter-attitudes-on-climate-change-are-complex/  I think there's more disagreement in how we should address it, which is fair.  But the majority seem to think it's not BS.  That's a far right view.

Agree with college.  But the fact is it costs too much and as such makes obtaining an education out of reach for a lot of people.  It's inconsistent with American values that promote an enlightened populace.  I think America is much, much greater if its citizens can debate and think through the issues.  Again, how we address that is up for discussion but I think we can agree that going to college shouldn't cost what it does.  And I say that as a father of two, one of whom has already said he doesn't want to go to college.....which mortifies my wife.  She tries to redirect him....me?  I tell him as long as he's doing what he wants and make a living....is a good person, treats others fairly....he can do whatever he wants.  Funny that we even have that discussion with 8 year olds, but the push to go to college is so strong that young kids pick up on it.  Kinda sad really.

I accept that the earth is (very) slowly getting warmer.  My problem is that there are viable alternative energies like nuclear which the climate alarmists are not embracing.  Why?  Because they are an anti-human cult which is more interested in browbeating people for living and in extorting billions of dollars through fear and carbon credits.

College is more expensive than it used to be (and than it should be), but people make poor choices.  All 3 of my kids are going/went to ASU.  In-state tuition is $10.7K, but they all got scholarships to cover the bulk of it.  If not it would have been more than manageable for me to pay.  For lower income families, there is plenty of financial aid.  As an example in contrast, my daughter's friend is going to Pitt.  He has family there and thinks it will be cool (it will be come January, he has no idea!).  Out of state tuition is just under $30K, or about 3X what he would pay to stay here (plus save on travel, parkas, etc.).  At least he will study something with a chance of recouping the cost (pre-med, with a goal of becoming something like a nurse-anesthetist).  The kids who both go out of state and major in areas which will practically never turn into a sustainable career... eesh.  :(

I think nuclear energy would be a great energy solution...if it didn't cost so much.  https://www.ucsusa.org/nuclear-power/cost-nuclear-power  So I think it has more to do with financing and public support than anything else.

And again, I agree with you about college.  Not everyone has to go to college.  You can still earn a nice living without doing so.  The only reason it was brought up in this thread...I think....is that it was mentioned as a far left issue.....well, Bernie is a Socialist pushing a far left agenda.....which he is, but he is addressing college debt which is a straight up and down, middle of the political spectrum issue.  His solution is far left, but the issue is not.  But yeah, I wish kids took all of it a bit more seriously.  Max your course load....get in get out and start making money.  Too many just wanna party and float by.

How about this, I shouldn't call you a bigot because I don't personally know you.  I think that's fair.  What you have been saying on here is very bigoted though.  I'm not sure you can deny that.  It's an accurate statement made based on what you've said.  In fact, many of the posts made by others on here have been bigoted.

I think first and foremost you cannot read too hard into what people post here, most of these folks are purposely saying these things because they are bigoted and considered funny.....here.

Much of the humor has always been a little macabre, with some trying to outdo each other to see who can be worst.

Given that this is the culture of the arena we are working in, I expect to find some bigotry and other stuff applied mostly in an effort to be vulgar in the most humorous way possible.

There are exceptions.

Bigot is like the liberal big boy word of the last few years and is overused. While they use it as an attempt to insult others, what they fail to realize that many like myself take it as a compliment be cause I am a proud bigot.

- I am anti all homosexual agendas

- I am anti all muslim agendas

- I am anti all programs that discriminate against whites, especially straight, white males.

- I am anti immigration including white immigration from Europe

What they also fail to realize is the actual definition of the word bigot. If you are intolerant of my views above, then by definition you are too a bigot.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that people are concerned about Chernobyl and Fukushima disasters when it comes to nuclear energy.

Nuclear reactor technology has come a long way since those were built.  The odds of a disaster with current generations are extremely low.  But I suppose much like you are way more likely to die in a car than in a plane, if there is a plane crash it is major news while thousands die in cars, ho hum.

That being said I disagree with your reasoning and maintain that the cult of global climate change doesn't really want a solution other than brow-beating humankind.

There is one just west of Phoenix; Palo Verde.  Old technology but humming along.  In fact they keep building houses closer and closer to it (maybe past it at this point).  Nobody seems terribly frightened.  :dunno:

1) The proud bigots who openly like what Trump said. Bostonlager

2) The Trumpers who make tortures arguments about why it wasn’t bigoted. Reality and many others

3) The Trump supporters who back the POTUS but shake their head at his comments. Voltaire
