Trex will cost you, but it doesn't look like that big of a deck.  I used Deck Over from Behr on mine because the Trex was going to cost me $15k.  I will end up putting Trex in probably 5 years from now.

Exactly. His deck is small enough that springing for the trex is well worth it. The price of trex Appears to have leveled off from a few years ago. Other products came on the market that are comparable.
