You have to eat the banana to get the benefit of the potassium.

I was just about to post this.

So a string of unfortunate things happen to allow the man most wanted dead by numerous powerful people to be alone, unmonitored (electronically and physically) despite just having attempted suicide a few weeks before (despite him telling others someone tried to kill him).

That's by design; i.e the very reason that place was selected to house him. You're beginning to see behind the curtain.

I agree that it's likely.  I bet on sports as well and sometimes it makes me wonder.  I haven't seen too many examples of it happening though.

How about the Saints obvious missed (by no one) call and therefore didn't make it to the Super Bowl.

How about the obvious shenanigans of some sort that makes the Patriots come from behind to beat the Falcons to win the Super Bowl.

It's B.S. and it's why I don't watch football anymore.

Actually, it was a kick some years back that was missed by a kicker that was absolutely unbelievable. I could've made the kick. It was some orange team that would've made it to the final four in the playoffs that only needed the extra point or something and they guy, a great kicker, missed it from like the 20 yard line. I was like, GTFOH. No way. These games are rigged.

Jerry Epstein is sipping Pina Coladas on his island. The FBI was probably escorting him back there, not going there to find stuff.

I know some things seem too obvious to not be rigged but saying everything that goes wrong is rigged is just making up excuses in my opinion.  I have a friend who constantly complains that sports are rigged, especially when things don't go right for his team.  I don't buy into to all of the conspiracy theories but will admit that some are quite possible.

There is some truth to that statement. Someone here pointed out that there were other opportunities for X team to win and not lose. There are other missed calls in favor of my team. It's just when my team loses do I notice the infractions.

Exactly.  Sometimes that's just how sports go.  I also think it's foolish to not believe that some things go on behind the scenes that we are not aware of.  There's too much money involved for there not to be.

Points have been shaved, fights have been fixed, the Black Sox threw the world series, and NBA refs have been busted.  That's all undeniable.  Buying off one or two players or refs is certainly possible in any sport.

But, it would be nearly impossible to orchestrate an entire football season to achieve a specific outcome.  Think about how many people would have to be in on it.  106 players 30 coaches, and 7 refs, for each of the 267 games played every season.

The game moves at the speed of light.  These guys are ultra competitive, get paid performance incentives and make unbelievable plays every single weekend.  Beyond that, the lucky/ unlucky breaks that turn a game upside down are far too random to predict.

There's no widespread fix in the NFL.

It’s a pretty terrible coverup. Doesn’t even answer the questions of why he wasn’t on suicide watch and how come his cell mate (a murderer) got transferred out hours before.

But you’re probably right, everyone will move on to the next thing and this’ll get swept under the rug.

I agree with this for the most part however there have been some instances that I have to question

A red white and blue team called The Patriots winning the SB after the worst terrorism attack this country had seen.

The Saints beating the undefeated Falcons in the first game at the reopened Superdome after Katrina

Peyton Manning riding off into the sunset with a SB 50 ring (I actually placed a futures bet on that one in March of that upcoming season simply because he had announced it was his last season)

It proves nothing but I still question these and others.

At one time I suspected malfeasance in the NFL, but I ultimately arrived at general ineptitude In officiating

Just like sleeping guards that falsify records?

Do I think the league is rigged throughout? No but in certain cases most certainly.

1. if the NFL could put together such a magical season for the Patrriots after 9/11, MLB should’ve taken a cue and fixed the WS so the Yankees would have won instead of the D Backs.  Half that series took place in NYC a little over a month after the attacks.

2.  Any given Sunday.

Namath and the Jets, Hostetler and the Giants, Brady and the Pats all underdogs that won a SB.  There have been hundreds of reg season shockers as well

3. I see the 2nd ring for P Manning  as more akin to what Lebron or KD did by joining a good team with a strong chance to win it all and it worked out.

I know, no way Brady could win a Superbowl without some inside help.
