Mushrooms

I can eat mushrooms pretty much any way except raw on a salad.I especially like them in my spaghetti sauce and on pizza.

When I was in HS I worked at my cousin's pizza place; it was a one-person take-out place so I did everything, including making myself a pizza for dinner.  My usual was personal sized but must have weighed 5 lbs.  Tons of cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and... mushrooms.  He bought the large cans of sliced ones and they were in some sort of liquid.  I don't know how I got around to trying them but I loved them.  Dang, that brings back fond memories.  If I were on death row I might try to recreate that monstrosity.

Fast forward to today, our local pizza place does a pie called something like "Funghi Formaggio" which is a white pizza with different mushrooms on it.   Awesomeness.

Love them on burgers as well, but in recent years I've somewhat lost the taste for mushrooms standalone, I don't know why.  Funny thing is my wife used to dislike them and now she loves them, so they are in the rotation of veggies she cooks.  I don't hate them and I eat them, but I wouldn't choose them as a side in a restaurant.  :dunno:

Every so often we go to a place called 37 Steak(inside our Harrah's Casino) and I always get prime rib with a side of sauteed mushrooms

Mushrooms are fabulous - but not a must have agreed.

Love me some mushroom risotto though.

Totally agree with you on the poop trees.  Anyone who says they like them is probably part of a vast conspiracy to get you and me to put poop trees in our mouths.

You're way off on cheese though.  American "cheese" is garbage and I don't like blue cheese either but just about every other cheese is great.

When I eat poop trees the birds talk to me and my cereal becomes a rainbow. Wait. That's Skittles in my milk.

A chef buddy of mine gave me a 2lb. bag of dried morels a couple of years ago. Have a couple of oz left.  I will miss them when they are gone.
