Wednesday non-political thread - Sports Trivia

You know the rules, you get the answer right, you get to ask the next questions.

Who joined Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, and Honus Wagner in the MLB Hall of Fame's inaugural class in 1936?

It is Christy Matthewson. But I didn't know that. I looked it up then kept my yapper shut because that was cheating. My guess was Roger Hornsby.

Ken Burns Baseball is an all time classic. Anyone who's not seen it is missing out.

He does a fascinating segment on Mathewson, the 'Christian Gentleman'.

You are correct---sorry for the holdup, really busy at work(pisses me off when work interferes with my goofing around on the internet time).   You get the next question.

I got this one wrong too, thought it had to be Cy Young.

Feel like I'm missing at least one much more recent pitcher.   I'll try Walter Johnson, if that's not one of them, then somebody has to get the last 2

Nope, not Walter Johnson...

One is Larry Corcoran who pitched from 1880-1887 (that was the one I had no idea about)...  The other pitched from 1936–1941 and 1945–1956...

I only had Ryan, Verlander and Koufax.

Guessing some old timers - 3 Finger Brown, Mathewson? Or maybe Seaver, Randy Johnson?

Correct, Bob Feller is the last one of the six...

So Verlander, Ryan, Young, Feller, Koufax and Larry Corcoran...

Feller was a good guess.

I'm surprised Randy Johnson isn't on the list.... Or even Pedro and Clemens - how many did they have?

Since I got four, I'll throw this one out...

Only 2 non-kickers have played in more than 300 NFL games....name em.

Favre would be one for sure...

I don't recall Pedro or Clemens with a no hitter.

With a nickname like that, old Mordecai had to be a hit with the ladies.  :dunno:

Randy Johnson had two no-hitters, one being perfect...  Pedro and Clemens never had one...

Pedro went nine perfect in 1995, but it was still tied and went ten innings...

Seriously? Wow, that' shocking.. Both were dominant, unhittable pitchers when on.

And Tom Brady prolly.

Wasn't there a lineman that was around 300?  I mean they would have to be in the game for almost 19 years...
