SUXBNME 1,321 Posted September 25, 2019 edjr made an interesting point the other day. Can't remember what it was, but it was interesting at the time. Very unlike him. Mebbe summfin about Pearcy being ugly or along those lines...can't remember.. Either way I loved both of the bands and liked Crues body of work as a whole better than Ratt, but I have to go with Ratt for the main reason of the lead guitarist. Warren Demartini. Nothing against Mick Mars, but Warren just does it for me. Thoughts?

Herbivore 904 Posted September 25, 2019 As much as I loved the ep and Out of the Cellar, they really went downhill after. The singles were pretty good but the albums were weak.

RaiderHaters Revenge 3,566 Posted September 25, 2019 my sister cut a track with DeMartini, and out of the cellar was my fav hard rock album of all-time so RATT!

BunnysBastatrds 1,909 Posted September 25, 2019 Best song I've heard live between the two are "Your in Love" by Ratt and "Kick Start My Heart" by Crue. Toss up.
edjr 5,547 Posted September 25, 2019 Who did I like better, Crue, who were the better technical and all around band Ratt. Nikki Sixx literally played the same chords for 20 years. terrible bassist. AMAZING song writer
Mike Honcho 4,009 Posted September 25, 2019 One of the first concerts I attended was when Poison opened for Ratt, or the Ratt Poison Tour. As far as the question in the OP, I'd take Crue based on the strength of the first two albums, both of which I really liked. When Theatre of Pain came out, that was when I learned the term "selling out".
bostonlager 2,457 Posted September 25, 2019 Crue, much like Def Leppard has been overplayed therefore I suffer from burn out. Give me Ratt.
peenie 1,690 Posted September 25, 2019 I liked them both. I actually don't like Vince Neil's singing voice. If only I could take Vince Neil's voice out of Dr. Feelgood.
Cruzer 1,992 Posted September 25, 2019 Rather listen to Ratt.......................rather party with the Crue.
fandandy 3,311 Posted September 25, 2019 I gotto go with Crue. Wildside is one of the best songs and videos ever. After watching it I was gonne become a drummer the same way as after watching Rocky I was gonna become a boxer. Funny how it all worked out. I never watched the movie Clerks and yet here I am. Bier Meister 1,512 Posted September 25, 2019 For Motley crue, i was more into too fast for love and shout at the devil. didn't love much of what they put out after that (same genre as ratt, poison, etc). Hard rock went limp around 84/
