Marty Brennaman: Today a legend hangs it up

I loved Phil... not as much as Scully or Harry Kalas.  I'd put them 1 through 3 in that order.  As for Brennaman, meh.  I've listened to him, but thought he wasn't anything special.  He is for Cincinnati, and that's fine, but not nationally.

Other guys I like... Greg Brown (Pirates), Jon Miller (S.F. Giants), Bob Uecker (Brewers), and Ted Leitner (Padres).

John Sterling is probably the worst I've ever heard.  Absolutely horrible.  I never listen to the Yankees any more because of him.

Agreed. The Yanks haven't had good announcers ... tv or radio ... since Staats/Kubek.

Not really familiar with Marty's work, although we had his son Thom in AZ for a while, he was good.  Another HOFer we had was Joe Garagiola.

My wife has fond memories of listening to Ernie Harwell do Tigers games.

So many good ones, Scully is probably the best I've heard.

Garagiola and Harwell are definitely 2 good ones.
