Damien Williams - To Play Week5

Recommended Posts

few websites posting including ESPN/CBS:

So McCoy show all alone (then must start?) or could we see him share carries making Darrell Williams a possible flex play (and downgrading McCoy a bit)?

Yes.

I would expect basically the same as last week; McCoy getting all the meaningful work and Darrel mopping up.

Real estate timeshare. We might see how hungry the other DWill is though. He’s always been the understudy and possible that is just that.. But If he busts out another strong performance ....

i always appreciate Doug Orth’s insights and haven’t seen enough of Darwin Thompson but I’ll say Dw has the size and fresh tires on him

the 3rd component is the will ...

wasnt counting on him....but jesus...injuries piling up for me...luckily i also have mccoy but im nervous about him too

saquon, d williams, TY, mike williams.....

if hilton plays the 2nd half or barkley even catches that td pass he dropped before he got hurt...i  get a double win...instead i only go at h2h win....

No; should have known that he would not be the Chiefs' #1 RB for long, with the signing of a better RB plus the fact that Williams had never been able to handle more than 75 touches in any of his five NFL seasons.

Even Axe Elf can't predict injuries.

Does he even have a role when he returns? Darrel Williams has been solid in the short yardage work and catching the ball out of the backfield. This injury could not have come at a worse time for Damien Williams.

That’s a great question about his return.

I think he’ll take over as the rb2.

Right now McCoy as long has he’s able will be thw rb1.

Think Darrel Williams goes back to the rb3.

But either way they will all be getting work, it’s a RBBC, despite the fact that others didn’t think Reid would do that.

Thanks.

And...

Reid had Darrell in last few drives w/game very much on the line.

And that was after he fumbled.

Shows some trust in the kid.

And w/what looks like a definite effort to have Mccoy share load to keep him around for long haul, whoever is the #2 will get some run.

I'd say Darrell has inside track for that role right now.

I slotted Darrell in at the last minute for Edelman, can't complain. A piece of the Chief Offense has value...

Reid quoted in KC stating Darrel’s pass blocking was top notch. Big body rub skill set complements rest of offense IMO

So your take is that Darell Williams will continue to get run because Andy Reid likes his Big Body Rub skills?

I’m gonna hold Darrell for this week to see how this all shakes out.

With the way this backfield is, I wouldn't argue with someone who wanted to keep him all year. He will have some value it seems if McCoy or Damien Williams are out.
