Allow a trade if a player has already played?

League management question:

Team A proposes Gurley, Ertz, and Gordon (WR - NE) for Barkley and Ebron.....the issue is that Gurley is locked so they decide to substitute Montgomery, RB-Chi in Gurley's stead and then swap Gurley for Montgomery on Tuesday.

They asked that the trade be pushed through prior to Sunday......Allow the trade as is or push it off until Tuesday?

That's an odd one. Idk why trading players who have played is an issue. They get the player who already played and therefor can't use him. Simple

The issue is that Gurley is locked on the site so Montgomery is listed in the trade instead of Gurley and team A had Gurley in his lineup already

If they want to do a side deal they should be allowed to, but caveat emptor. If Montgomery blows out his knee this weekend and Team A doesn't want to take him back -- or even if he just changes his mind -- that's a risk Team B has to accept. I think that would be a pretty crappy thing for Team A to do, but side agreements and verbal promises are generally unenforceable. 

If it were me, I would wait until Tuesday to push the original trade through

When was the trade actually proposed though?  Was it proposed and accepted prior to last night's game, or today?  If it was proposed and accepted today, the trade can go through... with the exception of Gurley, to which he can be moved this coming Tuesday.  If the trade was proposed and accepted prior to last nights game, the trade should've just been pushed through.

Yes allow the trade, just don’t move the players that already played over til Tuesday.

If a trade happens that involves a locked player my rule of thumb is the entire trade doesn’t happen until the week is over.

A lot of leagues are stuck in 1999 when it comes to trades. They use archaic systems like trade voting (why tf would anyone want their opponents to get better?) and it takes a day or in some god awful cases 2 (holdovers from before TNF was even a thing.) for it to process.

I would say that since Barkley isn't playing this week either, they could just swap Ertz/Gordon for Ebron and then swap Gurley and Barkley next week...

But dang, given that the Barkley/Gurley swap is basically a push, someone really wants to trade Ertz for Ebron--and throw Gordon in on top of it?

Yeah, in my 4 leagues, once you click on "Accept", the trade is processed and done.  There's no veto period.

Let them trade. And then let them trade again later if they want. Why micro manage something so simple? You don't need to take into account some backstory. That's their business alone unless somebody is thinking something dirty is going on. What you described isn't dirty at all.
