Foreign policy goes way deeper and requires much more strategy than most here have the ability to understand. It's not as simple as "screw them. I just want to get out of there'.  There is ISIS to consider.  Trump loves to blame Obama for allowing ISIS to form. This move will allow them to regain strength and numbers.  And even Mitch McConnell, one of the country's biggest Trump suck-ups said yesterday that "A precipitous withdrawal of US forces from Syria would only benefit Russia, Iran, and the Assad regime,"  Again, that was Mitch McConnell.

They still believe that one.  Although, Trump tweeted that the border is now secure so apparently there isn't actually a need for a wall across the border after all.  Problem has been solved.  Better refund Mexico their money.

They also believe that China is paying for all the socialism money that it's taking to bail out the farmers. Which is now twice as much as the auto bailout was. They'll believe anything that guy tells them to. It's frightening.

Personally I'm for us transporting the ISIS detainees on our way out to Bashar Assad.  He isn't exactly known for running Hiltons for his political opponents.  I'm sure we can take him at his word that he would treat them fairly and humanely.

Yeah, I see both sides. 

On the one hand, yeah, I want out of the middle east for good. In large scale anyway. I'm cool with drones and special forces strikes to kill terrorists here and there, but no more full scale fighting.

On the other hand, the kurds are about the best people in that region. Ideally, Northern Iraq, northern Syria, and southeastern turkey would be a new nation of Kurdistan. But we long ago decided to fock them over in favor of turkey. And turkey, let us not forget, is not above genocide, see Armenia.

If there were widespread support globally to give the kurds a state, I'd be ok with the US supporting it. Unilaterally, I'm not.

But yeah, those kurds are gonna die, and we sold them out. It sucks, but such is the world.
