Remember when people wrote real songs?

and not just the same words over and over again?

I've been alive forever
And I wrote the very first song
I put the words and the melodies together
I am music
And I write the songs

I write the songs that make the whole world sing
I write the songs of love and special things
I write the songs that make the young girls cry
I write the songs, I write the songs

My home lies deep within you
And I've got my own place in your soul
Now when I look out through your eyes
I'm young again, even tho' I'm very old

I write the songs that make the whole world sing
I write the songs of love and special things
I write the songs that make the young girls cry
I write the songs, I write the songs

Oh, my music makes you dance and gives you spirit to take a chance
And I wrote some rock 'n roll so you can move
Music fills your heart, well that's a real fine place to start
It's from me, it's for you
It's from you, it's for me
It's a worldwide symphony

I write the songs that make the whole world sing
I write the songs of love and special things
I write the songs that make the young girls cry
I write the songs, I write the songs

I write the songs that make the whole world sing
I write the songs of love and special things
I write the songs that make the young girls cry
I write the songs, I write the songs

I am music and I write the songs

There are still plenty of great song writers, the general public doesn't seem to want to listen to them as much though.  Apparently they prefer a good beat with repeated lyrics.  Mumford and Sons along with The Lumineers are both good groups with good song writing.

It took so long to remember just what happened
I was so young and vestal then
You know it hurt me
But I'm breathing so I guess I'm still alive
Even if signs seem to tell me otherwise
I've got my hands bound
My head down, my eyes closed
And my throat wide open
Do unto others what has been done to you
I'm treading water
I need to sleep a while
My lamb and martyr, you look so precious
Won't you come a bit closer
Close enough so I can smell you
I need you to feel this
I can't stand to burn too long
Released in this sodomy
For one sweet moment I am whole
Do unto you now what has been done to me
You're breathing so I guess you're still alive
Even if signs seem to tell me otherwise
Won't you come just a bit closer
Close enough so I can smell you
I need you to feel this
I need this to make me whole
There's release in this sodomy
For I am your witness that
Blood and flesh can be trusted
And only this one holy medium brings me piece of mind
Got your hands bound, your head down
Your eyes closed
You look so precious now
Show me something
Thought I could make it end
Thought I could wash the stains away
Thought I could break the circle if I
Slipped right into your skin
So sweet was your surrender
We have become one
I have become my terror
And you my precious lamb and martyr
I have found some kind of temporary sanity in this
blood and on my hands
I've come round full circle
My lamb and martyr, this will be over soon
You look so precious

I was getting my hair cut yesterday. They had some awful pop station on. About half the songs in english, the other half in chinese. I found that it makes absolutely no difference whatsoever. Both are equally irritating.

Always reminds me of this, seems like quite the panty dropper karaoke song if you have the testosterone to pull it off.

Lay lady lay
Lay across my big brass bed
Lay lady lay
Lay across my big brass bed

Stay lady stay
Stay while the night is still ahead
Stay lady stay
Heaven's fills our head

Whatever colors that you have in your mind
I show them on to you and you see them shine

Stay lady stay
Stay with your man a while
Till the break of day
Then you're gonna see him smile

His clothes are dirty but his hands are clean
And you're the best thing, he's ever seen

Why wait any longer for the world to begin?
You can have your cake and eat it too
Why wait any longer for the one you love
When he's standing in front of you?

Lay lady lay
Lay across my big brass bed
Stay lady stay
We're gonna build the whole night ahead

I long to see you in the morning light
I long to reach for you all night

Lay lady lay
Lay lady lay
Lay lady lay
Lay lady lay
Lay lady lay

Culturally, I’m stuck in a bubble of the US in 2001 when I left. I want to anesthesize all this woke bullsh*t to sleep. Musically, I ‘d already checked out by 1992 when I was only 21.

The only good 90s music was early in the decade stuff that carried over the sounds from the 80s.

I don’t know enough about drugs to know what he is on.  I’m going to go with a combo of cocaine, mushrooms, and bourbon.

Also,
