Cruzer 1,992 Posted October 31, 2019 The Rangers will open 2020 in their brand new, (retractable roof), $1.2B ballpark. The city of Arlington forked over $600m to help in the building of the shrine. The new park will be beautiful. In addition to the newly built Texas Live entertainment center next door - fans will be excited to see: * Gigantic jump in tickets prices, parking and concessions. * A shiity ass, no talent team in the confines of a climate controlled, air conditioned park. * Same old sorry ass, ragged armed, no pitching ass clown rotational staff. * The hanging of AL West 3rd and 4th place banners. * On all the tvs, fans will get to see Nolan Ryan and his team (that ownership booted out) - winning 4 hours away in Houston still. * Our old, beautiful ballpark - still standing and in use, across the street.

It stuns me that the Ballpark in Arlington is being replaced so soon.
RaiderHaters Revenge 3,579 Posted October 31, 2019 Wow I didn’t even know they were replacing it. Seems crazy i guess when you have republican run states with a surplus of money you get nice shiny new things meanwhile cali is building 500k condos for homeless and can’t even get that started

TimmySmith 2,782 Posted October 31, 2019 The World Champion Nationals need to re-sign Rendon and Strasburg. Or let them go and sign Cole? Worst case is if none of this happens.

The Ballpark is only 25 years old. 2 main (supposed) reasons: 1 - too hot..... 2 - big time FAs won't sing here bcoz of said too hot. Those 2 reasons are a crock of shiit... Texas, air conditioning or not, will always be an upper mid-level baseball franchise. Even at our peak (during the middle 90's/early 2010s) we were never higher than 7th.... NY, BOS, CHI, LA, STL, PHI, SF - they will always be bigger baseball markets than us. The old ballpark was a beautiful, an absolute throwback to the old days. Did it get hot? Hell yes, but it's focking Texas - it gets hot here. The few day games we have, fans aren't going to show up just bcoz we have a/c now.... Winning puts butts in seats - not a/c.... And since our ownership/management is clueless - I don't see that happening anytime soon.

The new lean toward retractable roofs (which never seem to be open) seems un baseball like to me.
JustinCharge 2,397 Posted October 31, 2019 World Series favorites (by looking at gambling odds) as of opening day almost NEVER win the world series. 2019: https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/w...nkees-dodgers/ Astros were favorites at 6/1 The Nationals were 16/1 2018: http://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/n...d17imhvh3gwky4 Astros were favorites at 7/1 Red Sox were 7th at 17/1 and the worst odds of any division champ 2017: https://fansided.com/2017/03/28/worl...d-sox-dodgers/ Red Sox were favorites at 4.5/1 Astros were 7th at 14/1 and the worst odds of any division champ 2016: https://fansided.com/2016/03/27/mlb-...d-series-odds/ Cubs were favorites at 9/2 with the best odds and won it all 2015: https://www.ibtimes.com/mlb-2015-sea...totals-1870940 Nationals were favorites at 6/1 The Royals were 30/1 (despite winning the American League the prior year) and had the worst odds of any division champ 2014: https://fansided.com/2014/03/31/mlb-...-betting-odds/ Dodgers were favorites at 6/1 The Giants were 24/1 and had the worst odds of any division champ 2013: https://www.ibtimes.com/mlb-2013-wor...-title-1163871 Angels were favorites at 8/1 The Red Sox were 35/1 and had the worst odds of any division champ 2012: https://www.ibtimes.com/mlb-opening-...preview-434202 Phillies were favorites at 5/1 The Giants were 8th at 18.5/1 2011: http://www.sportsoddshistory.com/mlb...=mlb&a=ws&o=p2 Phillies were favorites at +350 The Cardinals were 11th at +2500 2010: http://www.sportsoddshistory.com/mlb...=mlb&a=ws&o=p2 Yankees were favorites at +325 The Giants were 12th at +2500 2009: http://www.sportsoddshistory.com/mlb...=mlb&a=ws&o=p2 Yankees were +500 with the best odds and won it all We don't have the opening day 2020 odds but current odds are: https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/mlb-world-series-odds-2020-astros-dodgers-yankees-early-favorites-heading-into-offseason/ar-AAJuV4d Houston Astros 5/1 Los Angeles Dodgers 6/1 New York Yankees 6/1 Atlanta Braves 10/1 Boston Red Sox 12/1 Washington Nationals 14/1 Cleveland Indians 16/1 St. Louis Cardinals 18/1 Chicago Cubs 20/1 Philadelphia Phillies 20/1 Milwaukee Brewers 20/1 New York Mets 20/1 Tampa Bay Rays 20/1 Minnesota Twins 20/1 Oakland Athletics 30/1 Editing tis because I accidentally used AL odds. Now updated with all MLB odds. Eliminate the top 5 teams. the champ should be from among the rest. Everyone else is 40-1 odds or worse and they never win the world series. Going by the trend, you just eliminate the top 4-5 teams with the best odds and the champion is somewhere among the teams left. So the 2020 world series winner is either the Rays, Twins, Athletics, or White Sox.

JustinCharge 2,397 Posted November 1, 2019 Uniform changes for 2020 are: Padres new uniforms will include brown as a primary color. That's it. BUT they will unveil them November 9th at Petco Park!!! https://www.10news.com/sports/padres/san-diego-padres-to-unveil-new-2020-uniforms-in-november They have already done a soft launch (wtf?) of the new logo and cap when they announced their new manager. http://news.sportslogos.net/2019/10/31/san-diego-padres-show-off-new-cap-colours-sd-logo-for-2020/
