Recommended Posts

Who’s your number 1 QB that hasn’t ever reached a SB. Not been and haven’t won. But has never been before.

Bernie Kosar

ETA: I don't count his backup roll in Dallas as making it to the SB

For reference, here’s ESPNs top 10:

1: Philip Rivers

2: Warren Moon

3: Dan Fouts

4: Tony Romo

5: Jim Hart

6: Jim Everett

7: Jeff Garcia

8: Jay Cutler

9: Randall Cunningham

10: Jeff Blake

Dan Fouts certainly comes to mind.

I think Cutler is way too damn high. I’d probably put Stafford in there instead of Cutler

Moon for me.  9x pro bowl.  Without awhole nfl career.

Right?? Bill Barnwell was the one who made this list and I question his validity after his inclusion of Cutler

I completely forgot about Cunningham.  I would put him at 2, behind Fouts.  Buddy Ryan prevented that team from winning more than he led them.

That list tells me they tried REALLY hard to get a couple extra black QB's on that list.  Everyone knows that Everett, Garcia, and Cutler aren't really all that good.  They were "ok", but nothing speical.  Heck, Romo was only slightly better than average... but they needed to get Cunningham and Blake on there to increase their color count.  Jeff Blake?  Seriously?  Your agenda is clearly obvious at that point.

How does Carson Palmer not make this list?  Vinny Testaverde, Dave Krieg, Boomer Esiason?

Cunningham was a good talent, not a good QB.  I think Buddy Ryan is a big cause of why he wasn't a good QB, but in the end, he doesn't belong on a top 10 list.

Possibly. but he should have gone to a SB.  8 years in the playoffs, including 13-1 with Minny.

Danny White

If not for the "Catch" - White emerges out of Staubach's shadow, has a ring and derails the 49er's dynasty.

Good one.  Amazing he never made it as a starter.  At least he has a ring and did play in a SB.

Tom Brady. I know he’s not eligible, but it seems like he would win anyway. :dunno:

Aaron Rodgers is thisclose to being on this list.  Also Matt Stafford is so much better than Jeff Blake. ESPN=Racist.

I guess you could be right.  I may be exaggerating the intent of thread.  I was thinking "great" QB's to have never made it to the Super Bowl and I don't see Cunningham as a great, hence eliminating him from the equation.  I guess I shouldn't have seen it that way since Jeff Blake was on their list.

Forgot about Stafford.  I'd definitely have him over Blake.

10 guys I think would be (in no particular order): Moon, Rivers, Stafford, Krieg, Palmer, Fouts, Testeverder, Kosar, Palmer,  Jurgensen.

Honorable mention... Romo, Hart, A. Manning, & Everett.  Can put Cunningham in here too I guess.  So, that's at least 15 guys better than Blake.

I know what his #''s are.............but there isn't any scenario where I see Rivers as a HOF'er.

Jay Cutler doesn't belong on any list that includes the word "best"
