Brady's career..............................

Recommended Posts

He says he wants to play at least until he's 45, but he's done. NE has had to resort to trick plays, something they've never had to do before. NE does need to find a replacement for him but he doesn't "thread the needle" like he used to. Plus his receiving corp isn't the same with Gronk gone-they resort to depending on their defense and kicking FG's after they get into the red zone. Sad fact, he's seen better days.

You're saying the Patriots just started running trick plays? Mike Vrabel had 5 receiving touchdowns. He was a linebacker and is the head coach of the Titans now. Hasn't played in years.

I’m sure most qbs look at Brady’s career and think, wow if he was only a little bit better, I wonder what he would have achieved..

Poor guy n

It is what it is. He can still play quite well in their system, which is by far the best in the NFL.

It's clear though, he's not got much left. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's his last season, or he falls off a cliff next season.

His long ball has been lacking for a couple of years and they've covered it up with a brilliant short passing game. Now it's even hard to cover it there.

It just goes to show how great a player he is and how great a coach Bill is, but it can't last forever.

They don't cover up for Brady. They allow Brady to do whatever it takes to win football games. And that is what he does.

Incorrect.  Alls that happens is the patriots win.  And, the entire 20 year "run" is littered with dodgy situations, giftwrapped bye weeks and playoff seeding, and of course cheating.  The defense is also responsible for at least 4 of their Super Bowls.  Seems that anytime Brady and the offense was the strong part of the team they didn’t win the SB.  It’s cool, he’s a fine quarterback.  It’s just too bad there didn’t have to be so many "yeah buts" with the organization.  Very shady.  Those are the facts.

His receivers are: Sanu, Dorsett, and Edelman.

That's a HOF trio right there.

How 'bout that oline? Wow.

Let's blame Brady. He has a history of having the best WRs in football any given year.

Moss, Gronk. Let's not act like he hasn't had a few good ones. Gronk is the goat and Moss is close.

Sure they do, they don't throw it deep like they used to. They game plan to what he can and away from what he can't do, just like every team does.

Brady is the whole offense at this point this year. They can't run the ball, no above average receivers, terrible oline. Brady somehow wills the team to win.

HAHA I agree totally. Plus NE plays (as pittsburg did for years) in a weak division, thus all the playoff appearances. The o-line does take good care of him and Big Bill game plans very well for Brady-top notch organization. He might play until he's 45, he just doesn't have the arm he used to. NE and he will still do well, my OP was just a conversation piece. Have a good day!

20 years and you got 1 very good oft injured tight end and a end of his career WR? Moss didn't get to the Patriots until his 10th year in the league and Minnisota and Oakland didn't want him anymore and he was not a great team guy and Brady still made him look good until they let him go and then nothing else for him.

It was Brady that made Moss' last couple years very good. Noone else wanted that dude. Compare his 2004-2006 stats with his 2007-2009 years. And let me know what Brady did for that guy? FYI, everything.

Brady doesn't have to be good..... just show up, don't throw a pick, don't fumble.

Check out Sexy Rexy's piece on ESPN.  Brady has two slots guys (Edelman and Sanu) .. a bunch of JAGs.  Can you imagine the difference in his stats if AB wasn't a psycho, and was still on the roster??

They're winning mainly because of a very weak schedule and the defense is top notch, not Brady. Don't get me wrong, he's done his part but he's basically a bus driver at this point.

Heh.

The price of an NFL starting qb is absurdly high. Each year they win with him giving them a "im not even the breadwinner in my household" deal

Brady has proven himself to be the goat... that being said, the patriots won 10 games with Matt Cassel as their starter, so there’s obviously a system in place doing more than its share of the work.

Brady is the GOAT, there's no denying that.   But there's also no denying that this year he has been below average.  his deep ball is all but gone, and opposing defenses know this.

Despite that,  Brady will probably get another ring because of this stupid defense....    The Patriot Defense might be the best of all time.  Despite all the rule changes geared to scoring they have put up silly numbers.....

over an 8 game stretch (Superbowl, and the 1st 7 games this year) the patriot Defense has allowed 30 points total.....for an average of  3.75 per game.

no that's not a calculating error.......3.75 average per game over an 8 game stretch.

A child could QB the 2019 patriots

Moss was without a doubt the best deep ball WR in history.   Now match him up with one of the greatest QB’s ever,.......ding,!!!........we have a match.

Brady was horrible with the deep ball.

Moss with Aaron Rodgers and god know what his numbers would had been.

Agreed.  Rodgers with Belichick and moss would’ve been quite special.
