If colleges and universities became free, then they would need to create a higher tier of education above a masters / PhD, just to weed out applicants.   Kids would go to school until age 28.

Well, it's mutual disdain isn't it? They give him bad coverage and smear/lecture him constantly while he calls them fake news and goes around them.

And  Trump is certainly uncouth. The McCain one was particularly bad,  the disabled reporter and Megan Kelly not acceptable in 2020 but actually not terribly bothersome to people who remember when personal digs were common. He disregards the way things have been done and the careerist people (the swamp and the media jointly) that have spent their lifetime doing things the Washington way. Their pushback attacks have trouble landing because most of America on the left and right both disdains them.

Trump is a frontal assault on the establishment, not on democratic self government itself. He's not just dealing with the Dems and the media, he's also trying to clean out the Bushtarded insider Republican Party and the Washinton careerist elites.

Frankly, it would be nice if the Dems overthrew the insider power play of Hillary/Pelosi/Schumer types as well, unfortunatly, the pushback is coming from Team AOC types, so maybe the Dems are better off sticking with the establishment crooks for now.

Trump didn't mock that reporter for being disabled. The Kelly and McCain things were out of bounds and would have knocked him right out of the box if Hillary weren't so grotesque herself. I'll take a stab at this.

I'm not. Even a Trump supporter. In fact I despise the man. But it hit me once when I was home how BLATANTLY unfair, unbiased, unprofessional, and sometimes, outright untruthful, the coverage of trump on outlets like CNN is.

Things like the whole immigration children in cages flap, where they blast Trump for the same policies they either ignored or praised under Obama.

Ticky tack stupid racism claims (the fast food meal for example.)

The whole kavenaugh fiasco was the most pathetic and disgusting display of dirty politics I can ever recall. 

It's so bad that even on things Trump does that I praise (like standing up to China) you see things in the media even praising and defending China! 

It has become a shrill game of crying wolf daily. If Trumpers are a cult (and there are elements I would say are) then the never Trumpers are as bad or worse.

I was shocked and appalled that Trump won. But like a grown up, I gave the man a chance and try to judge him fairly. He's done some things I like, and others I don't, like any other president.

Many republicans believe the democrats have used mexican illegal immigrants to steal elections in California for decades and that there should be a massive investigations into the democrats for election interference.  They feel the democrats are committing absolute and total treason in this regard. They feel we have not had honest and fair elections in America for a very long time due to the democrats total disregard for the law.  To accuse the republicans of election interference just enrages them.    Truly think about those words.  Many also think the democrats are truly racist against white people.  Don't reflexively react as "your side" being attacked in some way.
