friday thread: what did you learn from your grandparents?

My grandmother on my moms side taught me all about brushing my teeth.  Like how to floss and you scrape your fingernail across your teeth after your done to see if there is any film left.  If so, brush again.

I knew my grandparents quite well.  Learned all sorts of stuff from them.

Even my great grandparents, I learned from.  From them, I learned how to swear in Italian.  :lol:

He was a boxer in the Navy - taught me all bout boxing history back in the day.

Also learned a ton about: The Pacific Theater (ww2), Baseball and fishing.

Fishing, hunting, trapping, how to fix stuff, how to play pool, how to play racquetball, how to drive a stick shift.

3 of 4 of my grandparents were dead by 1977. I was 8. 
My paternal GM was a nasty racist crazy lady. Even in my late 20’s my friends were freaked out/scared of her. She had that “evil eye” look.

My grandpa told me the story of how he and his brother lost their virginity.  During the telling, he said, “Well now, your ole Uncle Don was pretty well hung.”  

So, there’s that.
