Angelina Jolie's new show will teach kids how to spot "fake news"...

Who is going to teach her?

Angelina Jolie is ready for her next global challenge: taking on fake news. The Oscar-winning actress and humanitarian is teaming up with the BBC to executive produce BBC My World, a show for teens about the proliferation of misleading media.

The series aims to give kids aged 13 and up the digital resources to help them parse false news stories from facts. Each half-hour episode will take a deep dive into current news, offering up factual information about the subject matter at hand so that viewers will be able to make their own decisions about these stories, beyond the rhetoric of certain reporting.

In a prepared statement to Variety, Jolie said, "As a parent I am happy to be able to give my support to a program that aims to help children learn more about the lives of other young people around the world, and connect to them to each other." Jolie is a mother to six children whom she shares with ex-husband Brad Pitt. She is also a noted advocate for human rights, including serving as a Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and she has helped to fund several schools for kids across the world.

"I hope it will help children find the information and tools they need to make a difference on the issues that matter to them, drawing on the BBC World Service's network of thousands of journalists and multiple language services around the world," Jolie's statement continued.

While the series will tap into the reporting expertise of BBC World News, Jolie is also partnering with Microsoft Education for this small screen endeavor. Each broadcast will feature a classroom segment, and the company will be making those lesson plans for every episode available online. Additionally, BBC will make BBC My World available through the network's 42 language services.

BBC My World has no premiere date yet but will air on Sundays at 11:30 am ET.

When Brad Pitt first nailed her down, I thought good for him.  Now, I feel unbelievably sorry for the guy. What a terrible decision.  He knows it too.  Just goes to show the power of the poosay.

Good idea in theory, but how will they define fake news. I would worry that it could become political in nature and do more harm than good.

I know what I would teach.

Stick to porn sites kids while learning the constitution between whack offs.

Do that until you actually work for a living and are supporting yourself.

Then formulate your own thoughts on your personal freedom, or lack there of.

Then think about what the government is imposing on you, and/or how it is helping the country actually be a successful country.

And then take a look at the news and decide for yourself what you think about it.

And as always, just say no to Jolie, unless she is only offering up a hummer.

Fake news is far less important than bias coverage, lying with facts, or time dedicated to issues

Those are the foundations of fake news, so they are worse, in a way.  The sad part about of all of it is news organizations are themselves responsible for the integrity of the 1st amendment and none of them care.

You don't have to "teach" anyone.  Just tell them that if it's on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, or NBC, it's "Fake News".

When I think of fake news I guess I think more of flat out false stories or narratives that become viral via "news outlets" that tend not to be mainstream.

To me the bigger issue is that the MSNBC, CNN, Fox news yadda yadda is that for the vast majority of items it isn't blatantly fake it is that facts projected to mean something they don't actually prove or specific narratives are focused on to project importance that shouldn't be given.

This isn't to single out a conservative source because both sides do it but it is my best example. Tucker had the a politician on from Albany and in his argument about teachers in Albany he said that not a single student past this particular math exam in the entire Albany public school system. Which was a fact.

So what he wants the viewer to think is that not a single student in Albany public school can pass the Math exam. What is neglected was that the exam he quoted only had to be taken by students who failed the standardized regents exam which was less that 10 percent of the total population. So fact is plenty of students pass math standardized tests.

Tucker didn't lie. Nobody passed that test. But only the low achieving students were required to take it anyway. And he projected it on an entire population. Happens all the time in our media. Lying with facts

Under your lying with facts category.  Intentionally narrowing the scope of the backstory and presenting it as a universal truth.  Very common.  The most used technique in every medium from what I see.  Sort of like singling out 5 neo Nazis out of 1000 gun wearing citizens, and proclaiming we were lucky no violence occurred, when sadly, the news was already written that violence did occur.

The problem with this show is you have a lefty nutjob producing/starring in it, so the show ITSELF will be fake news.

Make no mistake:  This show will absolutely show that all left leaning news is 100% truth and anything right of center is fake.

It has too.  That's the only way the Leftist media can claim that someone else is "fake news"... otherwise, it's primarily them.

This might get me bannored by Mike FFT but I never got the Anniston thing.  Courtney Cox was 100000X hotter on Friends IMO.  Anniston had a great body but somewhat of a basset hound face.  She has aged well, I'll give her that, but I didn't know it at the time.

To each his own. I get it, but Anniston is and always has made my pee pee puff up. Cox always looked and sounded like a real bitchy tweaker to me.

Cox got way hotter after the boob job. Not that I care, they looked great. Anniston wins, but not a blowout. Points deducted for Cox because of David Arquette
