Also, I'll remain your friend no matter that our political views cross now. I've gone to bat for you many times.

Well that's a rarity around here.  A Trump supporter who doesn't hate a non-Trump supporter.  I appreciate it.

Bah! It use to be that you, me, MDC, and TBBOM shared similar beliefs in the middle.

Well, since then, you and MDC went kind of left and me and TBBOM went kind of right.

I only warmed to the GOP for Trump. After about a year in, I'd thought he was just like a Jeb! administration but more ill mannered. Come his second year was when things really started to gel and I realized that this was the president for me and it was because of trade issues, opposing TPP and reworking NAFTA and trade with China to make it more worker friendly that really won me over.

There was also a push factor. The Dems have gone crazy with the cancel culture, the socialism, the 'hate speech' attacks on free speech, the LGBTQ+ excesses, flag kneeling and white guilting and history shaming and so many other things. I want no part of it.

I’m pretty much the same as I’ve ever been politically. Medicare for all / universal HC is probably my most liberal position and it has broad public support.

I’m not much of an environmentalist, support dignity for LGBT folks without any crazy rights, favor responsible private gun ownership etc.

If it seems like I’m Left it’s because every other thread here is some wingnut Trumper beating his chest cause the POTUS pitches warmed over tinkle down economics while being an ass hole on Twitter.

I'm no farther left than I ever was. Which I why I don't like Bernie.  I would love for a moderate Democrat to win.

I always agreed with the right back when they cared about balancing the budget and lowering the deficit. I was economically moderate and socially liberal.  The Republicans have let Trump take them so far away from conservatism economically that the party isn't even recognizable any more. And socially, they have just become plain inhumane and hateful.  So if being against those things makes me appear to be farther left, then so be it.  My opinions haven't really changed on anything.

If Voltaire is ever lame enough to dig up a 2009 post where I said blue was my favorite color because in 2020, I say green is my favorite color, then I'll let him know that he, too, is a sad, pathetic loser.  Deal?

I think I'm pretty much the same too. One thing that I've changed in is that I'm more closed border than I had been. Somewhere along the line I became a hardliner. That may be more my reaction to Europe getting flooded with Muslims and bringing Sharia with them and not adapting to the local culture. My concern with illegal Hispanics migration into the US is more that I don't want them crossing illegally and sitting on their asses collecting welfare benefits. If they're working and paying taxes and not commiting crime or collecting benefits, I'm far more tolerant/forgiving.

Both of you Turkeys left out your lockstep adherence to the racial identity politics of the Left and the fact that you routinely call Trump supporters racist.  Not that we care about the latter anymore, because guys like you have so overused the term as to make it meanningless, but for that you can both suck a bag of dicks.

It’s a klobucharge, she’s gaining klobmentum,  klobal-warming.

What do you think of her, being from Minny? I'm inclined to not hate her but am open to change.

She and I have different political beliefs.   Other than that she seems like a decent human.

You have to listen to their message. Not read their body language. Some come across better than others. But all you have to go upon is what they want to do if they win office.

She won't even do as well as Hubert H. Humphrey did, let alone win the nomination like Walter Mondale.

Try again in 2024, Amy. I don't hate you. I'll probably even look your way if Jeb! wins the GOP nomination.
