Have any of you ever bought anything from an ad on tv?

Recommended Posts

I don't mean like there was an advertisement for Coca-Cola and you got some the next time you're at the store.

I mean like here is this product if you call now to order blah blah blah 3 easy payments of whatever.

Amything?

I purchased the product from Nugenix that Frank Thomas is peddling. It had two different products, one was supposed to boost your testosterone (I recently started lifting weights again and thought this would give me a boost when I got started). The other is for increased libido. I don't know if I have seen any results from either one. It was an auto ship set up so I got a second bottle of the testosterone booster even though I checked the box for it to NOT auto ship). It smells and tastes horrible (especially if I burp after taking it). I cancelled my future orders but will take the remainder as I have already paid for it. Would not order it again.

What's the verdict on these 3?

I've come close to buying each - just never pulled the trigger.

Flex Seal is badasss. I had my washing machine somehow get a hole in the drum shortly after the warranty expired. I flipped it over and put a few coats of Flex Seal over the impacted area and it has worked like new ever since.

Ron Popeil was spending a million a week on advertising for years on that one item.  We all watched hours of that infomercial, yet you are officially the only one I have ever admit to buying one.

My wife's grandfather is cousins with Ron Popeil.  Still no discount for us :(.

Assuming they are 1st cousins, that makes your wife 1st cousins, twice removed with Popeil.   Very interesting guy, obviously a huge gambler and a bit of a nut.

This guy lives about a mile from me, and may be crazier in person than he is in his informercials.

Got a my pillow as a gift. It is no longer my pillow or anyone else’s. Sucked. Bought some baseball cards a long time ago, and a Brooklyn lantern. Pretty good. I sometimes think about getting those sunglasses. Cheap enough, might be worth a try.

I have the coppet 3 set.  Definately non stick...easy to clean.

Thin and heat up very quick...coating would probably scratch if you looked at them wrong.

I have towels in between them when they are nested in the drawer

I've bought two things, both of which have provided a hella lotta use:

1. An ab roller about 25 years ago.  It had a spring such that the farther it rolled, the easier it was to roll back.  This enabled you to start at the right depth to get the appropriate amount of help to go back.  I used it a ton and it was a great ab workout.

2. Sticky pads for your floor to hold down rugs, about 15 years ago.  I don't know what they are made of but you just need to wash them off and they are back to seemingly infinite (very) stickiness.  They hold down 2 throw rugs in our hallway and some mats in our bathroom.  I know about the washing from the mats because we wash those; the hallway rugs have been fixed down since I got them.

I have:

Flex Seal - Works in some situations, but can help "retain" water if not done properly, and promote rust.

Flex Glue - There are better products, much better out there.

My Pillow - Awesome for back sleep.

Perfect Match Adjustable Belt - Click Belt?  These are fawking awesome.

Shark Vac - Not sure which one you have, but the ones with the front roller (Shark Complete Clean, etc) rock. Way better than Dyson.  1/3 the price.

I've tried the ones above.

Click Belts and Shark Vacuums = A+

I don't count Shark Vacuums as really a "as seen on TV" item...

So...#1 ranked TV Item = Click Belt.   Amazon has them in a lot of brands now. All great ratings.

Saw this on QVC today...very intriguing.   Looked amazing.

I searched Amazon, read reviews --- 84% 5-stars...which is about as high as it gets.  So I ordered a 2-pack.

Campanelli Stain Remover

My father fell for copper fit sh!t and flex seal, flex tape. I ended up tearing out all his gutters and replacing them and re plumbing both his bathrooms while he yelled at me from his chair because copper fit "DIDN'T DO SH!T BOY!!!!!"  I miss that grumpy old dipsh!t:pointstosky:

The Squatty Potty... we've discussed it before.  Works... still use it.

I've seen this one and have yet to pull the trigger. I'm a little disappointed they do not make it in a mobile/portable version.

Portable? Aren't they just a small, lightweight plastic thing anyway?  Isn't that portable?

And do ya really wanna be seen carrying that thing around in public?

If I'm going to squat with perfect shitting posture I want to do it at all times. I would at least keep one in the back of the truck for when I'm at the office or find myself spending the night at some random chick's house.

After watching this again 20+ years later, I have no idea why I  bought this garbage.

Crap that reminds me I also bought some golf training package.  Couple VHS videos.  Cannot remember who it was.  I do still use some of the tips though...So I guess it helped...

Before internet porn I ordered Nina Hartleys sex help tapes. I couldn’t stand to walk into one of those porn stores and buy one. It was ok. Too much talking, but some good porn.

I remember when I was a kid. It might have been on once a week, can't really remember that part. But I used to watch home shopping network whenever they had the sport's memorabilia shows. I never could talk anyone into buying me something. But I was definitely a loyal watcher.
