Best way to clean glasses?

Recommended Posts

Finally had to get reading glasses since every normal sized font became a smear on the page and my 7 y/o son was correcting me when I read to him.

These things are chronically smudged. What do you wipe them down with? Everything seems to dry weird or leave smudges. Wtf?

Baby wipes. It's what I end up using.

Do you have to dry them too? Don’t they leave streaks?

They have special cloths that are made just for this purpose, Grandpa.

My company gave out some of these and they worked great. Then someone stole mine.

US wealthy GC members just throw them away when they get smudged and grab a new pair. Pish Posh.

Yeah, Sams was cheaper too when they carried them.  The switched to another brand now and I haven't bought any yet.

These:

Put some in your car, your kitchen, bedside,  coffee table, etc.

EDIT:  I see others have posted these as well.  Looks like Zeiss wipes are the way to go.

Wow. I thought this was one of those dumbass Digby34 questions. Then I saw it isn’t. Not shocked though.

Baby wipes suck, the little wipes from Costco or whatever suck too.

Best thing?  A computer screen 'cleaning' cloth.  Not even close.  Pro tip.

Sumting like this:  https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Microfiber-Cloths-Electronics-Pack/dp/B01J8VOTYE?pf_rd_p=73275b46-ad06-47b9-9e64-0f0c5c07450d&pd_rd_wg=dYGpN&pf_rd_r=AH3CXQNJE3W7QGFXCYGB&ref_=pd_gw_pb_recs_pfvs&pd_rd_w=Ty8NO&pd_rd_r=3e98f597-1906-4e32-bea4-9007bc590059

I have long eyelashes, lenses get oily and smudged like a fothermucker.

Two ways. The right way, and the ghetto way.

The right way... Microfiber lens cleaning cloth paired with a bottle of specifically made lens cleaner.

Ghetto way, which works surprisingly well, but may or may not strip the fancy coatings off the lenses... Get them wet under the sink. Wash with dishsoap. Rinse. Dry.
