My wife and youngest have been sick too. Since we are through the rough part it would be sweet if we did have it and now immune, but I highly doubt it.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

What if I'm already over it. Does the test show antibodies?

Call your doctor.  They will give you advice as to what to do.  Don't just show up.

Well, then stick a finger up your ass and swirl it around.  Should take care of the issue.  :)

All of the traditionally bad workers where I'm at all have runny noses, so need to work from home.  All the competent people are perfectly healthy and are here.

The mortality rate of the flu is estimated at like 0.1%.  The mortality rate for COVID-19 is something like 2%-3%.  Towards the higher end if we do nothing and allow coronavirus to run rampant and overwhelm hospitals with patients.  COVID-19 isn't gonna wipe out humanity but its definitely killing at a higher rate than normal.  We're quarantining in the US as a science experiment it seems.

Old numbers.   South Korea has tested a higher percentage of the population than anyone and they have a mortality rate of  .6 %.  And since they haven't tested everyone, that number is also too high.

My cousin is now home sick with a high fever and cough.  Not sure what he has and not sure if any of us will get to know for sure.  So far there haven't been any cases in my county.

Directly, no.  My MIL's friend's son has it.  He lives in the same town as me.

None in our county yet, people are under precautionary quarantine though. I'm sure it's already here either way.

Do we know anyone who has been tested for it yet?  The availability of tests is pretty important because there could be 20x the number of people with it than have been actually diagnosed.  I think the fact that it is taking 7 days to get results in some areas (like ours) is disconcerting.  Even the Celtics, who got tested because they played the Jazz twice in a week before Gobert was diagnosed, have not received their results yet after a week.

How many people have died in LA county this year from the regular flu?

i believe there are what 20,000+ plus deaths from regular flu in the US this season.  Why no hysteria about that?  How does this compare to other seasons?

So Italians are just more susceptible to symptoms that require hospitalization? The reports about their hospitals on the verge of collapse are all made up? We should just carry on and not care if that happens to us?

I heard that Italy is has the highest population of elderly in Europe.  Might not be fact and maybe there are a bunch of young/middle-aged people in hospitals too.  I didn't look into it.

We should take precautions without question.  We should also acknowledge that in the US, unlike Italy,  we do not do a large portion of our grocery shopping at open air markets and we have a higher level of personal hygiene.

Is an open air market more susceptible than an indoor one?

Sad that S. Korea has a better healthcare system then us.

When you have meat and seafood out and open instead of being in nice little plastic wrapped packages or in glass cases yes.

We don’t greet each other by kissing on both cheeks too.

Instead, we shake each other's hands that have touched all kinds of exposed surfaces, been in our mouths, been sneezed on, had snot wiped on them and any other numerous disgusting thing.  Not sure what's worse.

Well, when you don't need to pay for your own national defense you can afford things like that.

I have a horrible cough, but had it for weeks now. BC I have congestion and no fever. They're treating with roids and inhaler.

But cough scares the hell outta people.

Guy came in the store today and the first thing he does is coughs right into his focking hand.  I just wanted to punch him in the throat.  I honestly hate people, but more so during a pandemic.

Lots of it in the NBA. I’d say the common theme there is airports.

It's a tough time of year for this.  With the changing seasons and the budding of trees/plants, there will be a lot of people who are sick with the common cold or allergies who will freak the fock out.

I've never been to Seattle. But, what are their fish markets like?

Yeah, I understand the fear, but sometimes a cough is just a cough. There's about a thousand different reasons for them that don't have anything to do with the Kung flu.
