Hawkeye21 1,851 Posted March 17, 2020 I don't see how my business can shut down. The farmers are getting ready for planting season and they can't stop what they're doing. They need service work done and need to buy parts.

If the recommendation is for all non-essential to close I'm boarding up my windows. I'm tapping out until this blows over. I did a milk order yesterday that my gut told me not to and today I have a giant liquor order coming in that I might refuse to keep the money in the bank for other bills. I have no idea what to do. Yesterday in my city they closed all restaurants and bars except for drive-through and carry out.
Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted March 17, 2020 I think that they will be shutting down all non-essential travel. Close the bars, already. Close the theaters and anywhere where you can have groups of people together. Stay home unless you are going out for groceries on medical attention (including medications). We need to focus on the food and medical supply chains, so you won't see everything closed. Supermarkets and their suppliers need to stay open. Farmers need to keep doing what they are doing (with added precautions). We need to have manufacturers making medical supplies including a lot more masks. People hear "shutdown" and they think that it is some sort of martial law. It will be similar to what they have done in China already.

Yesterday in my city they closed all restaurants and bars except for drive-through and carry out. Make hay while the sun is shining. Let the other booze houses close their doors. You stay open to keep the alcoholics happy. Anyway in PA here is what is essential. Quote The Wolf administration’s definition of nonessential businesses includes community and recreation centers; gyms, including yoga, barre and spin facilities; hair salons, barbers, nail salons and spas; casinos; concert venues; theaters; bars; sporting event venues and golf courses; retail facilities, including shopping malls, except for pharmacies or other health care facilities within retail operations. Licensed child care centers, except those in Philadelphia, must shut down. Adult day care centers and senior community centers also must close. Restaurants can remain open for carry-out, drive-thru and delivery orders, and shut down dine-in service. The administration said essential services and sectors include, but are not limited, to food processing; agriculture; industrial manufacturing; feed mills; construction; trash collection; grocery stores; convenience stores; retailers of household goods; home repair, hardware and auto repair stores; pharmacy and other medical facilities; biomedical and health care facilities; post offices and shipping outlets; insurers; banks; gas stations; laundromats; veterinary clinics and pet stores; warehousing, storage, and distribution facilities; public transportation; and hotel and commercial lodging. Thanks for this. I would assume this is a near-universal definition.
