Way to early to plant your garden.  Right?  I’m in PA and will be waiting quite a while yet.

I like to start some stuff from seeds...poblanos and chilis and some herbs and stuff. Yes..a bit early for plants

Seeing that I've already lost an old friend who was compromised to the virus my concern for the mrs.(36C) with her RA is fairly high. She has been in now for going on three weeks and I've only had to venture out a couple of times making sure I went at times when I'd have very little contact with people.I've also been cleaning anything I bring back including taking off the clothes I was wearing and getting them in the washer.Thankfully,we have our faith so that has been a big help as well.

My biggest concern is for family I have in the Baton Rouge area.

Let's put it this way. When all of the world was hoarding tp. I was stocking up on 7.62 ammo. If I need something. Your hand sanitizer and tp is going to allow you to mount just the type of defense I like.

4-5 right now. I try to use common sense. The thing that worries me are the people not taking it serious. In my town the leaders don't want to do anything just yet because they don't want to cause panic.  Which I can understand to a certain point. The only thing in place is restaurants are take out, the bars and churches are closed,.  Talked to friends, his wife is a nurse at our local hospital. There are 6 confirmed reported cases. There are also over 20 confirmed non-reported cases. Non-reported as in the public does not need to know how bad things really are.

I think I'm around a 6-7.  It's spreading and affecting people more than I thought it would.  Things are not going to get back to normal any time soon.  Too many people around me still are treating this like it's not big deal so I only see it getting worse.  There are a lot of my customers who are over 70 and I can't help but think many of them won't be around much longer if they continue ignoring what's going on.  I know that being younger means I'm less likely to be affected by it but I've seen what it can do.  An 18 year old in Iowa has it and had a fever of 105 before a hospital would take him in.  I fear that getting it could have long term affects on me and my family.  It looks like it can do some damage to our lungs.

The boy has seasonal asthma. We're on day 16 of isolation and I am hoping for this to burn out in the warmer weather.  He has been in the hospital 4 of his 6 years for upper respiratory crap.

I read something from a nurse who described it like this.

One of the biggest dangers for coronavirus patients is hypoxemia, or low blood oxygen. Normal readings are between 95 and 100, and doctors worry when the number dips below 90.

Vallati said she had found coronavirus patients with readings of 50. Their lips are blue. Their fingertips turn violet. They take rapid, shallow breaths and use their stomach muscles to pull in air. Their lungs are too weak.

The last time I took him the U of M which is my go to for this and 40 mins away his blodox was 70 and the PA at the local hospital probably would have given me a heart attack when he saw the number if that had been my first time around. He freaked the fock out. The rapid shallow breaths are something he has done since birth. It's called belly breathing. And it's freaky.

Ty. I have done everything I can to separate. I work from home anyway. I jerked him from school 2 days before they called it(and was told I would need a note and I was probably overreacting) and we are behind gates in a secluded area that no one else is in. Stocked up on groceries and the ones I have delivered from his uncle I disinfect. I feel like Howard Hughes minus the piss jars

About a 3 for myself and wife/kids with respect to contracting it.

About a 6 for my parents and in-laws.

About a 5 from an economy perspective. If the shutdown goes beyond May 1 and there aren’t signs of it coming to an end very soon, that number will go up.

Not really all that worried about myself, wife or kids contracting it. I’m worried about my parents getting it and the long-term impact on the economy this is going to cause. I think we will see 15-20% unemployment in the next few months.

I guess a 7.

I'm starting to get worried about society breaking down.  We all know that soon they will begin quarantining large cities.  There is no way around it.  Then after the riots begin and they start destroying sh!t the National Guard will be called in and martial law will be declared.  We have a media that will fan the flames and half of our government wishing for failure.  This could get ugly quick.

I'd say I'm prolly about a 1. I'm still going to work everyday. I spend a lot of time in grocery stores and supermarkets as a result. If I get it, I get it. Can't spend too much time worrying about it or I wouldnt be able to do my job.

I do worry a little bit about bringing it home with me. My wife has been working from home for a couple of weeks so she's relatively safe. Her best chance of getting it would be through me.

I worry about my parents. They're in their 70's and my dad has his share of health concerns. Mom is healthy and from a long line of women who lived well into their 90's. She'll prolly outlive me.

We will see.  Yesterday we are in here debating if it's constitutional to restrict interstate travel during a pandemic.  Half this country is nutso including the congress so I'm not going to hold my breath that we do the right thing in a timely manner.  I think the time to act is a couple of weeks behind us anyway.

I fear that we're changed irrevocably.

Throughout history, there are certain Seminal moments where society takes a giant leap or alters course permanently. I think this is one of them.

Not awful doomsday. But things that were fringe trends have or will become deriguerre.

...and life will suck just a little bit more.

That's close to my concern, on the societal fallout side of things.

I think areas that started social distancing earlier have been flattening the curve, and as a result, pushing their peak time out more and more. To people dubious about everything, the success of flattening the curve (not having a crisis on your hands) reinforces in their minds that risk was overblown. So we (early SD areas) may have a harder time if there's a second wave.

But I'm hoping that in the end, the way the private sector voluntarily stepped up makes us appreciate American industry, and respect that it has a power and desire to help, and is able to be responsive and innovative by virtue of not being government run.

Hope we start to think in less PC terms about every nation's sovereign prerogative to be safe and protective of its borders.

Hope the naval gazing of people who get animated about proper pronoun use, etc., is put into perspective, and we just don't spend so much time on that crap.

Don't want: clamor for more globalism/ perception of safety through centralization/coercive biometric ID initiatives.

Oh, you just know it, and every single story that the MSM can dig up glorifying the selfless reactions during this time of crisis by "undocumented Americans" will be shoved down our gullets.

At the start of this the liberal media was calling it racist to stop flights to China. When political correctness kills.

Yup. So I guess that means we should bring even more illegals in here, because us regular born here Americans suck.

Trump stopped flights from China and other infected areas at the end of January. On Feb 19 there was a democratic debate . Coronavirus not mentioned. Leftist media did not ask one question about it. Set up? Clueless? I don’t know.  But the grandstanding going on now just shows that they are not good at their job.

Thank you.  The Trump administration set up the Coronavirus Task Force on January 27th.  Around the same time stopped incoming flights from China.

February had a Dem debate and it wasn’t even talked about by the candidates or media.

Yet NOW Democrat’s and a handful of Monday Morning QB’s here are blaming Trump for not doing things fast enough.

You can’t make it up.

No. Put it in the hands of the rational people, meaning, not the leftist assh0les. Put in the hands of the capitalistic yet supportive corporations and the people themselves including the medical professional community that truly have an interest in solving this and not are motivated by nancy pelosi.

My worry meter is 2-3 mostly because of all the leftist fear mongering. It turns up to a 4-5 if the fear mongering wins over the majority of the dumbass left in this country. Which is possible. Unfortunately there are a lot of dumb people walking the earth.

See, China, Russia, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, and the rest of socialist/communist history throughout history. I prefer I die before this country gets taken over by socialism which ultimately turns into communism in a country this large.

It's ridiculous that there apparently some discussion of what the plan is for a pandemic, and have the legal difficulties ironed out long ago. I mean, it was just a matter of time before one of these happened.

Our government is truly a focking joke.

Worry about the virus- 2. Regular flu has already killed 23k this year in the USA ALONE. Let that sink in.

Worry about our focked economy and long term effects of this media induced abortion- 9. It’s not worth hardship to 99% to save 1%.

The fact that our 2 Chinamen were cool calm and collected when their communist country had millions dying left and right leads me to believe that the reaction in America is 100% due to media and political hysteria.

More people have died in the last 48 hours from cancer than 3 months of COVID-19. Even if 10k-30k die from COVID-19 that is still a drop in the bucket compared to the other top 10 killers in this country.

90% of the deaths are people over 70 with underlying conditions, aka they were gonna die anyways in the next year due to a lifetime of poor choices or bad genes or old age. Even the handful of people under 50 who have died have all been fat focks or had underlying conditions.

Health concerns: 0, nobody in my house has health issues, parents who are 70+ have no health issues and are self quarantining

Economy concerns: 3, stock market will bounce back to record highs by election day, jobs will bounce back by Independence Day, the trillions of fake money sent out will keep things churning along and likely boost the economy

Society concerns: 9, media is in overdrive with their politicizing, dividing, and hating. The vacuum from the failed Russia Hoax and failed Ukraine Hoax is being filled with the We're All Gonna Die Because of Trump Hoax.

This is just a stupid take. I'm sorry, but it is.

In a perfect world, with an infinite supply of medical care, this virus is not so bad.

But left completely unchecked, it spreads so quickly that EVERYONE will get it. Hospitals will be crushed. And the death rate would climb as people wheeze their last in the gutters.

The fatality rate is low checking it as best we can. Left alone, it would be higher.
