Favorite Country Music?

Recommended Posts

I started listening to country in the early '90s when I met my ex-wife and have lately been listening to 90's country music on Amazon Music.  Coming across a lot of song I love and that bring back fond memories but there are a few that I just love.  Here is a couple from me.  What do you got?

Not a fan.
I remember I was in TX on business early 90’s and went to a strip club and there was decent music on and two or three songs in DJ said You want to hear some country ??? I booed. I was in the minority. Few songs in I was bored. I left.

I always thought this was dust on the bible and although it made no sense I still loved it.

Not my genre. Maybe more country-folk than straight country but I love this album by Shana Cleveland though:

I am not a big country fan in general.  There are a couple that I like now (Kane Brown comes to mind).

One of my favorite bands of all time is the Dixie Chicks.  Wide Open Spaces, Fly and Long Way Around are fantastic albums that I will listen to, start to finish.

Johnny, Waylon, Willie.... Old school Outlaw country.

For the 90's I'd hafta go with Dwight Yoakam. Lots of great albums and some tributes to the old guys.

I love me some Dwight too.  These are my faves

That’s my guy. Not bad for a California boy.  Also love the Highway Men.  Check out their stuff on YouTube.

Love Country, old school anyway. This new wave Luke Bryan/Jason Aldean stuff is shiit.

Any Country fan who hasn't seen the Ken Burns 'Country Music' documentary is missing out.

How bout some Marty Robbins.

Not a fan of country per se, but some of my favorite songs definitely have a country influence:

2000s really broke out Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Alison Krauss, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum

80 - Randy Travis, Keith Whitley (RIP), Kenny Rogers (RIP), Alabama

Didn't listen to it before then but going back later the 70s offered Glen Campbell, Charley Pride, Dolly's earlier years (way better), Willie Nelson
